Are bag seeds better than 1s u buy?

No. Bad seeds are usually a genetic mistake. Sure a lot of famous strains started as bagseed, but 1,000 times more bammer weed started as bagseed. Considering the large amount of time and money we put into growing, it only makes sense to purchase the best genetics possible.

I’ve just started on my growing journey so I can’t really make any recs based off true experience but I’d look thru a couple of the threads here and you’ll see people growing bomb looking cannabis from standup breeders. The useful and Clearwater thread are two that changed my perspective on where to get seeds from

You don't really want to grow with bag seed unless it's something special. The reason is most bag seeds come from herms. The herm trait gets passed down through to the seed making it more likely that they will herm as well. I have ran a few bag seeds because they were special to me, but in general I stay away from them.

Me 2 m8. Only ever find mybe 1 2.pergrow. And I use them for my next grow. Most hermies are either to stressed. Or light leaks. Or bad genetics. Iam running 4 bag seed at the mo and no meat n 2 veg in sight. At 55 days in flower.. Must be a lucky person. Ty for reply.. What the weed that's special 2 u?

What are you looking for in a strain? Do you want a trendy "new" strain? Something classic? Height restrictions? You working with a tent? What kind of high and are you focused on yield or strictly flavor/smell?

Me personally like terps. And potent high.. Iv learnt a few good training methods to counter act the height.i seem to get lots of snow on them. But trimming the leaves I get confused with.. Iv run a geleto.star dog which I bought the seeds from a shop. N they grew funky deformed and didn't yeild well.. I put that dwn to bad genetics on there behalf not mine.. Hence me going back to bag seed. Ty for your reply

Obviously there's nothing inherently wrong with a bag seed from a quality bag, other than the risk that it might herm on you and the somewhat unknown genetics (they won't necessarily be selfed seeds, they could've been pollinated by another plant, male or herm). Purchased seeds are as good as the genetics used, the care put into selection, and testing done. Seems like bag seed has been working out a-okay for you. Personally I buy seeds and have been plenty happy with them.

Just like everything else in life, it depends. In this case on the quality of the bag it came from. Most bag seeds are going to be a result of a hermie somewhere in the grow room. So if it was the plant with the seeds that hermied, it will be an S1. If another plant, then just a normal F1 cross.

Right now one of my favorite strains is from bag seed a friend gave me. His dealer called the flower Michigan OG, but MI OG looks strange on the labels, so I call it Le OG (after the friend). Last year's full season's was my first time growing it, but I have a few out now for a spring crop. I killed all the males, so no F2's this go round, but I will cross the best ones with something.

I agree 100% the seed iam using at the moment is from a really good batch. I know the person who grew the clones.. And when it was finished we found 2 seeds on 2 separate clones. They were just sat on the top of his msi. Colas. Didn't find any more. N there what iam growing atm..Happy growing peeps

That's a lot of detail to leave out, not sure I'd even call those bag seeds per se (when I talk about bag seed I mean a seed you get from a purchased bag that you may or may not know much about, at best you know the mom, unlikely you know anything about the grow operation). Used to save them, haven't bought a bag in awhile... probably wouldn't bother with my bag seeds at this point.

. Exactly m8.. Don't have the option in the UK. Still not legal here.. Carnt get seeds from USA. Like I used to because of brexit. Lol. So forced to buy inferior clones. Or risk a seed or 2... Tbh. Iv never had a seed herm on me. From my baggy seeds. So far anyway.
