Right on, do clones have the ability to grow to the full potential height of a strain?

I'm working with a 25+ year old clone-only strain. It'll compete with any indica dominant variety out there which tells me that you don't lose vigor or potency with cloning clones.

I think homebrewer answered your question well, to reiterate the point some of my plants are 7ft tall when I harvest

A clone will indeed be a mother with no drawbacks. It's the same plant but just put down roots somewhere else. The only time the lack of vigor mentioned by NewG can become an issue is if you take a clone from a plant that has already flowered. The longer you wait after taking a flowered clone, however, the less impact having flowered before will have, until it flowers normally again.

I would agree with that avoid taking clones from flowing plants if possible it takes them forever to revert back to veg and when they finally do they end up quite disfigured. I think those clones can be saved too but you have to take fresh clones and it takes about 6 months to get them strong and vegetative again.
