Ok so I have 6 seed I got from 6 different types of good mids,in the begging i used scotts hyponex in a solo cup it turned to mudd so i switched to something my aunt had since money is tight its sta-green flower and vegetable potting soil plus fert .05-.04-.03 and its slow release nuts . iThey are 10 days old they are under 6 23 watt 6500k cfl lights that were about an inch from tops of plants running 24/0 and has a fan blowing on it all the time. 4 days ago I gave them a table spoon of mg orchid food because it has 30-10-10 figured it would help with roots and stuff mixed into a water bottle and watered my babies i ph the water before i water with zepherhills water to around 6.2-6.8 its normally around 6.4-6.6 when i water. as of yesterday i moved the lights up to maybe 2.5 3.5 inches from tops because the leaves were not dark rich green they were starting to look shinny and dry like it had no moisture thought maybe the lights were drying them out not burning them the light give off no heat what so ever not even warm to touch because of the fan.just over the last two day maybe 3 one plant has developed a bright yellowing of its leaves and a few have some yellowing also but not as bad.what is causing this.. also a few of the leaves are like reaching up to make a v type shape the stems arnt stretching what is causing this. please help this is my first grow thanks for any advice here are some pics and if you need better ones just let me knowDSCF1676.jpgDSCF1677.jpgDSCF1671.jpgDSCF1670.jpg ok the first pic is the one that is curling down and the leaves are also curling in...... the second and third pic are the v shaped ones and the fourth pics is the yellow and looks dry and flat

Don't feed them again. They were too young to feed and your soil already has fertilizer. They may be burning from nutes, and not from heat.

You may have burnt them a little with such a high dose of nitrogen. You have an adequate amount of food in soil. Just use water for the next week or two then post a picture before you feed and ask questions.

Its just a seedling reaching for light. You may try lowering light but not too close. If you put your hand 1/2'' above plant and then lower your light until you feel warmth on your hand that would be an adequate amount of distance to ensure you don't burn her. As she gets taller you will want to raise light accordingly.

cool thanks for the advice i currently have the light about 3 inches i guess i could lower it down to 1.5 because there is almost no heat when i have my fan blowing.. ill post pics soon i guess there doing ok i flushed the soil on the ones that were getting bad nute burn i havnt seen any improvement but it also hasnt gotten any worse at all that i can tell but it is growing bigger almost double in size right now i currently 1 light for each plant so i think there all getting enough light for there size as of right now i plan on getting more lights next pay day..

my ultimate goal is.... i just built a 12x12 man cave im thinking of turning 4x4 or 5x4 of it into a grow room for hydro or soil idk yet this is my first grow so i have to see which one i like.. im def sticking with cfls for now. i would like 150 watt cfl per plant plus some other little wattage cfls to fill in shaded spots so on so forth is that to much or could i just stick with 6500k 150 watt with reflector per plant and switch to 2700k 150 watt when needed or should. i use a 250 watt cfl... i would like to stick with 6 plants every grow in that area... to many plants or to little. any advice on how you would set up a 4ftx4ftx6ft grow room using cfl how many plants and how many lights. but this is my ultimate goal.. right now you can read my journal not much of one but im trying and working with what i got for my first grow so any advice or critique will be appreciated ik im asking a lot of ? but i dont really have anyone to walk me through this so i pretty much go off what i read on here and there and do what i can

Just buy a HPS because you're going to want it anyway after a single grow. Start with a 600w in the 4x4, stay in soil for at least two to three grows to get all your technique down. Look on amazon for "apollo 600w hps." It's a kit that comes with everything you need besides a fan and filter for around $130

In a 4x4x6 I wouldn't have any more than 6 plants. In veg have at least 50w of cfl over each plant. I aim for 100w per plant in flower with cfls. My advice would be to stick to soil until you've got a harvest or two under your belt, so you can get a feel for it. And if anything goes wrong it'll give you more time to rectify it. Stick with water only when feeding just now. With soil with time release ferts the more you flush the more the soil will release ferts. The yellowing your experiencing won't get better but as long as its not affecting new growth your cool.

ok so 50 watts a plant for veg so i need another light for each plant at least for right now... and as for the yellowing it hasnt hit any new growth so i assume thats good then. should i go with multiple low watts to equal above 50 watts or just get 1 high watt for veg. my only other concern at this time is about 4 of my plants are making v shapes with all there leaves one guy on here said its them just stretching for light is this true i have them like 1.5 2 inches above and i dont think my plants are stretched do you know what caused this or is it normal or nothing to worry about

Its up to you if you wanna go with multiple bulbs. Me personally, I use 125w actual watts(blue spec) and 300w actual watts(dual spec). Always go for actual watts instead of equivalent. If yoyr plants leafs are 'praying' to the light, it means there happy and basking in the light. If this is the case then theres nothing to worry about man.Maybe a pic so we can be sure?

Let me stand corrected the plants look good they are not stretching. your light is fine. some genetics are different than others hints they do different things eat different amounts of food and believe it or not make two completely different flavors of buds.

Plants are looking good bro! Your 12/12 ?..... how many watts total are you gonna run in flower? And what will your final pot size be?. These will help determine the best time to flip them.

Idk how many watts total but i was thinking about 4/5 lights per plants for flower and I wanna get at least 1 more light per plant right now for veg which i think ill do today. And final pot size i have no clue what size should i get for 6 plants in a 4x4x6 space
