Are my plants retarded? Or am i?

So look ive had these skunk x white widow plants and they have this weird growth pattern where the leaves only have like 3 points. and the bud'ing is weird...









could this growth pattern be caused by light leaks? To me it looks like the plants never really fully go into flower. I had three of these plants. 1 was crappy at best.... one after caring for the stupid plant for well over 14 weeks was just thrown away. and this last one is looking like another throw away.

It looks like it is not getting complete darkness. If any light disrupts the dark period, this thing tends to happen. (I speak from experience)
The buds might form, but they will look stringy, never fully maturing or swelling up. Check your set up carefully.

Also, there seems to be some deficiencies in you soil.

Thank you very much. The light thing was the first thing that came to mind... And since im even having trouble getting my jack herer clones to flower i figure something is definitely wrong. Im going to look and make sure the timer is functioning properly as well.

I get shoots that look like that on plants I "re-veg" Completely flower, harvest and put back into the veg room with a few bottom buds. I actually have a plant I have harvested 4 times. its about 16-17 months old right now and going for another harvest next month and it has growth with fully mature flowers on totally veg branches... deff a light issue i would say.

It's just strange to me that the plant doesn't really have any normal looking pot leaves. None of my skunk #1 x white widow had normal leaves, so I was starting to think maybe it was the strain.

After checking for light leaks I found that I had a power stripe that had a red led light on it so I covered it with foil tape. Also I suspect I was having issues with my timer as well, so I changed it out. I noticed that my jack herer clones are starting to flower so I think i fixed my problems.

some times plants dont know what the fuk to do if the environment is not stable. low nitrogen, will cause flowering even tho the light is on 18 hrs. high n. will keep a plant in veg even if the light is 12 hrs. Different strains are always different.

The little red light on the powerr strip isnt enough to cause that, sounds like a timer issue. Try to keep the environment stable as much as you can and be sure not to over fert.

Hey Nodgman, By chance, did you get your WW x Skunk (Seedsman brand) seeds as freebies from Herbies?

I did but still have mine in veg. It's about 18" tall, still in veg and almost ready for the flower closet. But she's also showing some odd growth. Here:
