So I have x2 320xl per plant mixed spec 2700 and 3000k with the 324 nichias.. in a tent with scrog so would it be worth the extra money on buying optics with being in a tent and since I do have 650w+ per plant so not sure if they would be worth the money since I have x2 per plant thanks for any help and advice....

Personally I haven't seen anyone using them. They are not necessary in my opinion.
Especially when scrogging.

Alright thanks yeah ive seen someone using them but they are doing a vert scrog grow and lights are vert of course but thanks for your reply I would like to speak with someone who has them and tested them vs with and without them on being worth it in a tent as well which I'm leaning towards no but also read ppl wont Use them w/o it and searched around for a grow journal w and w/o and no luck except for that vert scrog which I am not doing thanks for your time

I just wrote this in another thread so I cut and paisted it here for you, I just want to add, I wouldn't use lenses if you can avoid it. If you get flying nats at any point in your grow they will fly into the space between the lens and the cob, die and pile up on the inside of the lens, eventually, the corpses make a hot spot and melt through the lens leaving black char. This is hard to spot with the lights on since it is so bright and you never want to look right at the lights, but it happened to me. I will never use a lens on my cobbs again.

I never even thought of something like that now it would be on qbs not cobs but I'm sure it's highly possible..yeah I dont think i really need them with having 640w per plant and in a tent with scrog so I think the money can be spent in better places than something that may or may not help or if so very min vs putting the money towards a mini split for next summer will be a much better option I think thanks

Thing is QBs are very intense as they are. I wouldn't want to increase that by narrowing the beam angle.
But there are always reasons. If you were in a narrow tent and wanted less light reflected off the walls.
But then you would have to raise the light further from the plant anyway. Horses for courses, just haven't seen anyone need that kinda horse. :bigjoint:

Yes they are which is why I didnt think I need them but just have read from a few threads ppl saying they will not run qbs w/o optics and then read only needed in a open space and not in tents....but have seen running optics with multiple lights gives even more even canopy well that's with with these scynceleds they have out now but who knows
