Are these doomed?

Memory lane can be tough. But it was fun. I DIY almost everything still because that’s what we had to do back then. Ninja grows

Yep, vegging with unwieldy 4' fluoros were a bitch back in the day. Hanging them, adjusting them, replacing them all sucked. It was a joy when cfls came along.

Lol every ones saying that are these shitty? What’s a better option? This is my first grow lol
ive had extremely good results with
Aglex 3000 (655 True Watts)

and
Phlizon 3000 (605 True Watts)

and am thinking about
This one next...

not expecting anything more than 3-5 years from these but in one grow they paid for themselves...

def other LED options out there that might last much longer if you're willing to spend...
some day <3

It's not that they are shitty they simply aren't enough. Your plant looks to be about 3 weeks in flower and by date you have them at 6 weeks. So you simply need more light. I'd suggest moving away from blurple. But these could work fine for veg.

I use HID (HPS/MH) and am testing my first LED (on a baby lime tree in my kitchen window). I will move to LED eventually but I'm waiting for the right performance/price intersection.

We all begin at the beginning, don't worry about it, finish this grow and begin your next. Every grow teaches you something. Your plant looks good. I might consider backing off the N a little but otherwise it's great, so congratulations on doing so very well.

First off welcome to Riu and your ladies look good but you said that you been in flower for 42 days is that from when you flip your lights to a 12/12 or when you started to see the flower as always thank you for your time and the best of luck in all of your endeavors

I don’t think you are asking dumb questions. Wel for years I’ve been running multiple 1000w MH/HPS lights. I’ve always had great luck and they’ve never let me down. Tomorrow or Tuesday my 650r’s are showing up. And I’m going to try something new. Everyone asked will give a different answer.
I see MH/HPS is something I looked at originally but from my understanding( keep in mind I’m new lol) they give off more heat and I would need to beef up my climate controll. Defiantly want to move that way once I have stacked a lil money lol

They put off a little more heat, not much.

I used to only use MH for my reef tanks for years then the LEDs came out which I thought I would never switch to. Once they started making better LEDs I switched and grew coral just like my MHs. I have a burple LED light currently in my 4x4 and have had no issues at all. That being said, at that current day in flowering, my bud's where way bigger then yours. Something is going on there. I would think lighting or nutes.

Thanks man I’m just trying to take in all the knowlage. And yeah it’s been 43 days now since I flipped to 12/12 not exactly sure how long since it started budding physically

Are the “blurple” lights bad is there something else you would suggest for a 4x4? Like a specific brand or type?
Are they 'bad' in the sense that they won't grow decent bud? No, it's just that led's have evolved significantly over the time when 'blurple' monochromatic diode fixtures were all that was available.
The reason to look closely at the specs is that current tech diodes like a Samsung lm301h produce about twice the photon output your plants use to grow for each watt of electricity it uses compared to 'blurple' fixtures.
So, getting back to your question.
480 watts of top-tier diodes will rock a 4x4. Domestic companies offer excellent product choices and warranties, but if you're willing to accept some risk you can find reputable products from China for about 1/2.
800 watts of HID(HPS,CMH) would also work well.
If you're stuck using 'blurples', I'd suggest at least 900 actual watts consumed for that space.
