Are these girls ready yet? and other q's

Hi folks! First post on RIU!

Been lurking and soaking up all the great info on this site. Now I'm nearing the end of my first grow and need a little help.

I'm on day 47 of flowering. Don't know what strain, but they seem indica to me.
I'm using a 250w MH, and an aquarium light that has a 96w 10000k daylight cfl, a 96w 10000k true actinic 03 blue and 2 moonglow LEDs.
Been feeding with molasses, sea kelp, and schultz bloom 10-52-10. Most of the hairs are white, but some have been turning color, and they're looking frosty. I'm guessing I have like 2 more weeks, but what do y'all think? pics are below.

For the last 2 weeks, I'm wondering if I should change the light schedule from 12/12 to 10/14. I also plan on 48hrs darkness before harvest. During the day I want to bring them outside for more uv exposure, and keep a dehumidifier in the flower room.

Does all this seem ok? This bud knocked me on my ass when I first smoked it and I was so psyched to find a few seeds. Can't wait to try it, and I just want the best for my little girls!

THe 10000k lights are not the best for flowering, but having said that your grow looks great ( well done) Forget 10/14 stay 12/12. Forget moving them outside they look more than fine with what you are giving them now. Dehumidifier is necessary only if you have probs with humidity (obviously) 48hrs darkness makes NO difference to the outcome, whatever you may hear, genetics cause resin production not darkness, 2 days of dark cant change that! As for how long till harvest, get a microscope and check the trich's when cloudy get chopping! I would say from the pics at least 2 more weeks. Happy smoking

woomeister- I know the lights aren't exactly ideal, but it's what I have for now. As soon as I can I'm gonna get an hps system.

When do y'all think I should stop watering?

keep feeding her man...I say you have a month...at least...you arent even close yet bro...start flushing in 30 days and you will be satisfied with them beautiful nuggets that is one healthy lookin girl..

Ooooo those are pretty! I love the frosting on the leaves and the buds are so beautiful!

i would give it 2 weeks, but i heard if you give the plant 14/10 on the last weeks your buds will be bigger, potent, and ripin faster. this was shown on a canadian DVD about growing weed and its proven to work.

thats perfect because in aug 4 the natural light will be 14/10 so just leave it outside,

Here are my girls on day 57. the hairs are really turning color, the trics are cloudy. I think i'm going to turn the lights off sunday night and harvest tuesday morn. Any thoughts?

Got the scope from radio shack, and most of the trichs looked clear, so the girls are still going. Been flushing for a week, thinking I'm gonna cut down the tops this weekend and let the rest go another week or so.

What do y'all think?

Also, any trick to taking trich pics through a camera?

For the taking pic bit, try not to shake/move too much thats all the advice i got, but from what i'm seeing, I would chop like in 3 days. or maybe now. Just my opinion though. Hows it smell ? has it been getting fatter the past days? are the hair starting to wrinkle ?
if you want to do that cut the top and let bottom grow i would do it now, then you'll get the idea of high and see for yourself if you want the rest to grow longer. unless the top is most of wat you got. i'm stoned and cant remember how many plants you got there.
but i think i would cut everything during the week. i cut mine at day 70 i think and i now think i hould have cut it a bit earlier. but again different strain different condition. see for yourseeeelf its the easiest way to learn

There really is almost no smell emanating from them. If I rub a bud and sniff my fingers, it smells awesome. Hopefully the smell will coming in drying and curing. some hairs are wrinkly, but there are some that still look fresh and white. crystally, but the trichs either look clear or amber - none that really look milky - puzzling to me. I keep comparing to fdd's pics in the harvest faq, but it could just be the strain.

2 plants. I thought I had different strains, both came from good weed I found seeds in, may have messed up labeling them so could be from same batch. They have been growing remarkably alike, same size and look to them.

I didn't really prune them, and the lower branches have some pretty big buds on them. The main colas are both around 7" long and maybe 1 1/2-2" diameter, lower buds about 2" long, and a lot of them.

I think I'm going to chop the tops on thursday or friday and leave the rest and see what develops.

Whats your stand on leaving them in the dark 48 hours before harvest?

As for the trichs, I was confused too (keep in mind i just finished my first grow only), i had more clear/amber than milky. so I decided to go by the look. my buds didn't have a distinctive smell either, only from inside the buds. then when you cure, this aroma trapped inside starts to escape, thats how i think it. to tell you the truth i was scared at harvest cuz i had tried a couple of sample buds before hand but it wasn't at all wat i expected, but after 3 weeks of curing in a jar, it's so fucking good lol.

like i said i only grew once, but i guarantee you i grew some real good shit. i have no idea how effective this 48 hour thing is, but if youwant to keep things simple just chop and hang in a dark room for a week and cure for as long as you can, at least 2-3 weeks to get that proper weed taste/smell.

i did that chop top let bottom grow for one of my plant, i left it for a week but not much had happened. anyways, i think that instinct plays a big role in harvest. i think i chopped mine too late but some others think the opposite. and i'm the one smoking it anyways so, you kno what i mean

wat you can do is smoke a small bud since you have lots of them. try it out.
