Def new growth mate! No sign of preflowers there! You might get some early preflowers but that would be closer to the end of vegging period...have a look at mine at day 32:

too soon. that's axillary growth. around 8 weeks they pre-flower, and you can, with a degree of certainty figure out who is M or F. flowering is the only 1000% way to tell, but pre-flowering is fairly accurate.

You still have to watch them when you do flower. Hermies can be there, so you have to keep a close eye. I got lazy, and found 3 deep in my fucking canopy. I am sick about it. Fucking Greenhouse Seeds, never again.

I started topping at about day 24, but I guess that depends on the strain and the actuall growth. There are load of threads around about topping and other techniques to try out... My fav is Fimming. You can see some pics at my journal. There are loads of videos around too about topping, fimming, LST etc. check youtube too!
