Are they ready yet?

Believe it or not, I'm not bummed, nor is my ire raised one tiny iota. I'm just curious why some people tend to say "Hey look at me (or mine)" rather than spend a few minutes to review other peoples' posts of the exact same thing. If you had seen any of the 4 or 5 other posts posted the same day, you could have answered your basic question "I was just wondering if these girls are close enough to harvest".

So now you know... it's not a case of genetics, long straight white hairs are common in ALL immature pot plants. It means they need to grow and mature more. Your plants look very nice, and have lots of white hairs which should all mature to typically brown or red or orange as they approach maturity (not 40% red as you mentioned).

I hope you don't misunderstand why I'm recommending to you to read more. Your assumptions that 40% red hairs and loads of straight white hairs means you think they're about ready to harvest - I'm just concerned that you have a lot to learn and I'm trying to help point you in the right direction. Just telling you 2 weeks, or 3 or 4, doesn't do you any good if you still believe the misinformation your clinging to.

So peace to you too and happy growing.
And I apologize if I seemed a little bent out of shape. Sometimes when we are new at some things we are paranoid about whether we are doing the right things. Those links provided to me were very beneficial (kindnug). Thank you for complimenting my plants, they're my first so I'm super excited and super proud. And yes, I saw on growweedeasy.com that I'm supposed to wait for 40-50% of the white hairs to become dark  http://www.growweedeasy.com/harvest#pistil-method This may very well be some misinformation that is out there. Yes, it absolutely threw me off and I'm sorry I started an unneeded thread. I actually have a lot riding on the success (or lack thereof) of this grow so I'm being very careful, especially this late in the game. I appreciate you responding because at first I really thought you were perturbed by this thread. But thanks again for responding and shooting me straight. I would hate to think of what would have happened with these other 3 girls had I proceeded without any hesitation. Happy growing :weed:

Once almost all of the white hairs darken and begin to recede, don't be surprised if you see some new white hairs sprout. It doesn't happen ALL the time, but occasionally it will. If it happens in multiple places on your plant, give it a few more days. If it's just lower branches, you can harvest all of the 'ripe' colas and leave the few that still have white hairs a few more days or weeks. Nothing is carved in stone when it comes to 'how much time do I have left', the colas will tell you when their ready.

I tend to cut just the fully matured colas and leave lower, immature colas to develop a couple more weeks. Others may tend to cut the whole plant all at once. Neither is wrong, but cutting colas when they're fully mature maximizes your volume and potency. Why spend 3 - 4 months growing, then cut yourself short in the last 2 weeks?

If you want more input, post new pics around July 1st. Anything before then is probably too soon. And happy growing.

Thank you, Dan. And I surely will post some new pics around the 1st of July.

I've got nearly 100% cloudy trichomes on one plant. I know that most people wait for some amber triches, but I was wondering if it would fine to do it with mostly cloudy without any amber? There are only a small few clear triches. My landlord will be inspecting the house on the 10th of July so time is a little bit of the essence.

A lot of people will-not wait until there are Amber Trics.
Many are satisfied w Mostly Cloudy.

you'll have just enuf time to process it if you harvest now. break the plant apart and remove some Fan leaves if u want to move the process along quicker. :weed:

Can you post some new pics before you harvest? I'm curious how the plant and it's colas look now. Don't worry about trying to take pics of the trichs, just the plant pics should be fine.

Unfortunately I chopped her down. Like I said, my landlord is inspecting on the 10th so I kinda gotta start getting ready for that. I really wanted to wait another week but almost all of the trichs were cloudy, just a few clear ones here and there. I'll post some updated pics of the remaining two plants later tonight when I get off of work, Dan.

Sucks. I'd hide it in your car?
Well as long as they are jarred up by the 10th it shouldn't be a problem. I don't care if I have to jar them up the day before, as long as I can get them in there. My main fear is that they won't be ready by then... and no, they are way too big to go into my car. Even if I fit them in there they would be way too obvious. Plus it is really hot down here this time of year.

Here are four pics to see. I took two of each plant, two with and two without. Each plant gets two pics. I would like to let them go till the last minute, a few days before my property inspection. These two have almost all milky/cloudy tricks right now as well although they have less red hair/more white hair than their sister did. What do you guys think? (their names are plant 1 and plant 2)NL.1A.jpg NL.2A.jpg NL.1B.jpg NL.2B.jpg
