Area 51 RW150-Led- Veg height from plants

So I'm getting my hps back up and running for flower. I was happy with my a-51 for flower but for me it obviously doesn't compare to a hps for flower in my personal opinion. I will definitely be using the a-51 as supplement lighting in flower. For now I'm going to use my 2 A-51 rw150's and 1 rw-75 for veg. I was wondering what distance you guys and gals who run a-51 keep your lights from the plants in veg? A-51's website recommends 16in from plant for the rw-75 veg, it doesn't say which height to keep the rw-150 in veg, I'm guessing the same. I just wanted to see what distance you guys personally like to keep your a-51 leds from plants in veg- Thanks in advance-Ds

I was actually just talking to this dude at my hydro store and i always trust what he says cause i can tell he knows his shit, very knowledgable guy, he was telling me you can put those 6" to 16" away from tops because of the spectrum, depending on your needs for coverage, but remember, this is just what i was told, he ran his at ten inches with really good results.

I am running my XGS190 at about 18 inches.
It is hard to keep it regular...5 differnent strains, all different growth patterns.

There are a few diff factors at play.
Lense angle and intensity being the two biggest ones in my mind.
You can cook them without heat, these LEDs put out some intense light!!

It's not that bad like everyone will lead you to believe. I have had plants grow up within 3-6" range with no issues, about 3-4" on the XGS and within ~6" with the RW. neither bleached either plant or anything. Par meter shows it's less intense that close anyways.

I'd say depends on the space you are covering how intense you want it and how big of plants you want to grow. At 18" dead center on the RW I measured 877.5 umol, 400W hotri on a lumatek ballast was low 300s, around 310-320 at the same height. So really just depends on the area and what you want to do to determine how close you want to keep your lights.

the simplest way to look at it is, if they are small seedlings you keep the height they recommend, if they are a somewhat more meatier plant that can take a little bit of a roughing up, keep putting the led closer and closer as the days go and see what the point of no return is.

Thought I'd toss in my experience. I run two RW-75s, I follow the manufacturer advice to keep it between 16-20", they're currently at around 17" above my buds. I had to toss five plants into my tent and force sex them, I set them all along the frame of my scrog screen, and didnt raise the light, these plants were well under 10" from the LED, probably close to 6" on some of them, I didn't get any bleaching or burning.
