Attic Grow

hey you all hope all is well with everyone. I am new to growing and would like to see if anyone had some pointers on setting up a attic grow above my garage. I live in Mi and it gets cold in the winter and i do not have a direct heat source down below in the garage.

Got to insulate and probably run hps.

Heater at night with exhaust fan connected go a temperature controller, or just run autoflowers 24/7 for easier winter temp control.

Well you can leave the light on for heat so yeah.

Growing in an attic sucks.

By nature an attic is designed as a "cold space". So it should not be insulated from the outside, only insulated from the home below.

An attic is the least desirable place to grow. Try and find a basement. You will thank me come summer.

thanks you all good looking out i do have a room in my basement that use to be a dark room for developing pics. no windows and the only vent is an old dryer hook up. and its going to get cold real soon up here in mi. the room is 6x4 you think this will work???? thanks

Well most people fight heat and that costs more than fighting cool considering the lights will make heat. Sounds like a perfect area to run sealed with CO2. Then you don't need to vent. A dehumidifier can handle humidity. Trick will be cooling, especially in the summer. Do you have pics of the area? I would like to see if I can find another place to vent. Send as many pics of the area as you can. Do you have floor drains? Thats a bonus.

That would be helpful. You might sent pics of both spaces and we can help you determine the pros and cons.

Do you know where that duct in the ceiling goes? Is that the dryer vent? Looks larger than 4 inch but there is no scale really. The hole in the top on that cabinet, where does that go?

I cant really see how the room flows and how much space is left with the counter and cabinets, doorways and whatnot but there might be some potential there.

Are you trying to grow just for personal? Like how much weed do you need say every 3 - 4 months?

Add event that's hanging down that looks like a hole in the roof there's no hold there is just a roof as a cutout Circle but I got leads nowhere I didn't get the other dryer vent it leads outside there however down in the lower corner is advent that leads into another room

sorry talk to text I hate it the vevent that is hanging let me try that over again the event that is hanging where it looks like there is a hole up above inside is a false vent there is a circle cut but it only hits the roof now I didn't get the other pic of the dryer vent which leads outside however in the corner on the right hand side Below leads into another room but I was always told to vent from the top of the plants

i have 23 seeds from the bank and 8 clones

well the room flows like to this about half of it it's a storage for my daughter stuff who passed away 2 years ago the other half is about 5 foot long and from roof to ceiling about 8 foot the with of the room is about 4 ft

So u have a 5x4x7tall space? A sketch or full room pic from doorway would really help us help u... Also i dont kno how legal growing is there . ..but when growing in an attic and it snows, your roof will be the only one w no snow on the roof.. Many peopleget caught this exact way.

Hey ya all it's me again i have taken all of the advice i received from everyone on my post and a little update the grow room you all advice on in my basement is by far the best everything went off perfect and i had 100% germination and they are all doing well thank you all so much. Now the new question that i have is this i have some 8 week auto flower the strain is called crystal M.E.T.H from 420 quick buds the plant gets a little over 4 ft how big should my transplant pot be? will a 5 gallon bucket work? any ideas would be great and thank u all
