Hi mate, if you are not already running a UV source such as CMH or fluorescent, we normally suggest the High Light UV boards.

Some growers prefer to run the High Red boards and then add fluorescent reptile bulbs such as Reptisun or Arcadia with 5-10% UVB. Other growers are already running CMH lights and we suggest running the High Red boards to supplement their lighting, as CMH already has a fair amount of UVA (and a very small amount of UVB), but usually needs the red boost that the High Red boards provide to increase yields.

However, a very interesting test has just been completed in the US using our High Light UV boards vs Quantum Boards with added UVB and UVA.

The test results are below and show four identical tents. One tent was a control using Quantum Boards and no supplemental UV. One tent ran Quantum Board 288s with added 6% UVB and 30% UVA Arcadia reptile fluorescent lighting, another tent ran Quantum Board 96s with the same 5% UVB/30% UVA, and finally one tent ran straight High Light UV boards with no added UV.

All the UV tents produced higher THC, CBD and terpenes than the control. But the surprising thing (not that surprising to us), was that the High Light UV boards not only beat the control by 20%, but beat the QB288s with added UV and were just behind the QB96s with added UV. The QB96s have added blue, which can also boost cannabinoids and terpenes (which is why CMH usually outperforms HPS).

Here are the results:

6 x QB96 Elite, 1 x 28 diode FR bar, 2 x 4’ T5 30% UVA & 6% UVB
Total THC: 19.8%
Total CBD: 0.7%
Total Terpenes: 4.7%


8 x QB288, 4 x QB35, 1 x 28 diode FR bar, 2 x 4’ T5 30% UVA & 6% UVB
Total THC: 18.7%
Total CBD: 0.63%
Total Terpenes: 5.0%


8 x High Light UV
Total THC: 19.1%
Total CBD: 0.64%
Total Terpenes: 4.8%


Control – 3'x3' room with 4 x QB96, 4 x rapidled FR pucks, NO UV
Total THC: 16.6%
Total CBD: 0.52%
Total Terpenes: 3.9%

Eh I don’t listen to that guy after he told @Lucky Luke he needed 8 boards + 315w cmh for a 4x8. He’s a good sales man but when it comes to the actual lights I’ll listen to the prawn man and the guys over on the led threads.

Do any of the members live and grow outside up here in the north in the heat and humidity?

You’re on the right track with growing a, what looks like a very Sativa leaning strain, stay away from Indicas, and hybrids that are anything but almost pure Sativa. If possible obtain the genetics locally or from an area of similar climate, and breed with that strain. Plan your grow so that you’re NOT flowering and harvesting in the wet season.
Keep your plants as healthy as possible, including bug/pest free.

When mixing neem oil with water does a drop of dish soap work to mix properly or do i need insect soap cheers?

It will mix fine the soap is to help the spray stick and spread over the leaves. A couple drops per L should be enough. Dr Bonners listed above. Dish soap is fine,

Risk of it being got by Customs is getting higher (Melbourne international gets a few), but its still pretty low. Consequences are usually nothing but Customs do pass any find to the Police. Smart money is to have them sent to an address that is clean.
Go Attitude, select stealth packaging and Guaranteed delivery. Shop wisely and u get a shit load of freebies (which are often better than the ones u pay for). Look at other options down the track.

you will save $ in the long term for sure. But dont expect to get the first run done with no problems. It can take a couple runs to get the feel of it.

Yea it will be steep learning curve maybe some tears. I was going to do 4 seeds at a time. I be happy if i harvest 1 mediocre plant. Attitude seeds gonna make some money off me that is for sure. Everybodys hobby cost them money hey.

4 x 4 and it was 4 boards and a 630wDE cmh. But yes i think he was up selling me.

But having said that if I feel the cmh needs to be in there then my 3rd grow will be with a cmh AND the 550 hlg

When u learn cloning then seeds can become cheap (even expensive ones). Healthy trade in seeds on forums as well. Its a self sustaining hobby though,...

Sorry for ghosting you guys I went back into voyeur mode on here because I just had the cuntiest xmas and new years of my life and didn't want to drag anyone down with my grinchness and general fuckwit sort of attitude basically. Also came to a bit of a realisation of how pathetically I live my life and I'm not usually the type to want to share it with the world. Been in a bit of a shit place more or less. Probably got bipolar or something.

As for importing seeds, I can only say I've had a couple of successful goes but I'm still pretty dodge about it so I don't plan on making any more purchases any time soon. Probably just being a paranoid cunt. Sent some seeds out the other day though.
I also know of one other dude who got an order in.
The place I got seeds from no longer ships to here any more though but I think my bro used Seedsman when he got his.
