Aussie Growers Thread

Yeah I edited my other post.

300l a week(ish) that’s 14 weeks to hit 12000L.
I’m probably wrong on what I calculated a bag makes (its 3:30 and I qwik mafd). I got 3-6 months from 1kg making roughly 50-100l a week.

Hmm, I'm not sure it would actually work out any better. After the price of a bag of combisol and shipping as well (apparently it's hazardous and costs.more for freight) it actually might not be that much cheaper than buying 20L drums of H&G that last me the same amount of time? Although I probably use a bottle of top shooter for every grow which isn't cheap

15kg of combi + 15kg of calcium nitrate would last longer than the 20l of h&g a+b. I’ve been using h&g cocos for a less than a month and already gone through 1/2 a litre.

I’ve got a little bit left from the trial bag I got I’ll mix up a litre and see how much it takes to get 1.0ec later.

Cool I'm wondering if serv-ag sells it locally I'll have to check it out it sounds pretty enticing. The boys in the growshop are gonna hate it when I stop dropping all that $ on HG.

1.3ec? Dang. I can’t run under 1.4 in veg atm without getting nitrogen and calcium deficiencies.

even the base is too expensive for me. I got some 10l drums for $150 and it still works out 10x more than buying dry powders. 15kg of combi sol is $340, calcium nitrate was $80/15kg and mag sulf was $90/15kg. that 15kg of combi will make something like 8000-12000ish litres of nutrient

Expensive initial outlay buying 15kg bags but works out magnitudes cheaper. Reminds me I need to buy a bag of mpk when I grab my combi sol.
I'll have to look into it sounds promising.
I get about 5000ltr out of a 5ltr h&g but only with this strain other strains would be about half that.
Ueah 1.3 and she starts burning up, I've gave it to other people using different nutes and they said the same thing it's a weird one. Still one of the best strains I've ever ran too she fucken stinks and is pretty potent. It's Apollo 13, I'm about to change it up tho cos she doesn't seem to go single big colas just lots of smaller ones down the stem and it makes trimming a nightmare. Still yields well somehow tho, and all the smaller ones down the stem are almost as solid as the tops

See I’m ranging from 1.4ec in veg up to 2.0 ec in flower for most of my strains lately.

well I just mixed up 1g base, 0.6g cal nite and 0.3g mag sulf into 1l of tap water with base ec of 0.2 and I’m getting 2.1ec

so assuming that as your highest ratio in flower (itd be slightly different as you use less cal nite in mid/late flower) your looking at 150g ish or less for a 150l res

the mag sulf and cal nite will also last for multiple bags of the base.

'Found another source for Combi-Sol: https://www.nuleaf.com.au/products/peters-professional-combi-sol-15kg

Cheaper & apparently flat-rate shipping. I've asked them if there's a "hidden" DG surcharge (nothing on their website says so) & will let you know when they respond.

Edit: For some reason, they don't have Cal-Nit, but I already have heaps of it & can get it local to me. YMMV.

Cal nite will be cheaper local. It’s common and most ag stores will stock at least 1 brand

doubke check the shipping rate in bulk items. They’re saying the t&c that it’s only for metro shopping. Might be more for regional bulk items.

otherwise good source.

I ran a test of different shipping scenarios (metro vs. regional) for a single bag at checkout stage (like.....how long will 15Kg last??) & there was no difference for my situation/location.

I'm guessing that since their "flat rate" shipping is higher than others, that they kinda "absorb" the DG surcharge into their overall operations.

Their t&s say they’ll contact you after checkout for regional freight charges.
