The good news is you probably dont have Browns if you have red bellies. Nice country you seem to be on there!
Sometimes. But I’ve seen a black and 2 browns around my place in the last month. Living near a river doesn’t help.

We have a few 8ft black snakes here, but the neighbour has browns (killed his dog and a few sheep). No river, but can get swampy here.
Actually, both neighbours have browns, so I guess that means I have them too. I just don't have livestock to attract them!

A few years ago, I had a red-belly black snake appear in the house, close to where I'm sitting now. The snake rescue guy came here and despite pulling the room apart, the snake could not be located. It was a small snake (about a foot long) and knows how to access my house when it gets bigger.

Red Bellies are pretty easy going, most of the time they'll get out of your way if they can and I've never heard of one actually chasing someone the way Browns and Tigers do.

2 x IB clones that are from the same mother, taken at the same time, but are displaying different characteristics. Go figure......?

I know I'm only relatively new to the game, but you'd think a clone is a clone is a clone, yeah????

Yes a clone is a clone ie both are exactly the same genotype but in different enviroments that genotype will express itself in different ways (phenotype) so given different temps, light levels, nutrients etc the same clone can look, smell, taste etc vastly different.

I'll take a punt and say the shorter stockier one was closer to the light than the stretchier one ?

Thank you! I just copped a valuable lesson, not only growing, but also in certain people.....

I can't honestly tell you which of the two plants was closer to the light source, as I was moving them around in the tent a fair bit over the past couple of months, but that was my first thought - less light will result in more stretchy growth. It's not a product of nature, but of nurture.

To extrapolate that, it would stand to reason that keeping a Bonsai version of any plant as a Mother would work, as you're just preserving the genetics. Taking clones from that plant & growing them out would always be dependent on HOW they are grown. Yes?

Yep bonsai mothers are a relatively common way of keeping genetics if space is limited. Epigenetical changes can occur but it does take time for them to happen

@beernutz
Man I look on this site everyday for an update! How are they doing? When is harvest?
Unfortunately beernutz is on temporary hiatus or banned, unsure. ? You will read or be informed at some point that it was somehow my fault. It wasn’t. And not a thing to do with me - and also of no interest if I’m honest. - but thought I’d reply to your message as I know you were keen to see how the plants were. ;)
