its my understanding that the less drainage you have say in straight coco(no perlite, or clay balls), the less frequent your watering should be, my question is how often do you water in straight coco..strain man???

well with coco you know when it needs watering i use the lift and feel method but during veg it was 3 waters a week but now into flower these gals are sucking up to 1ltr every 2 days
the strains are jack herer x southern shiva skunk and jack herer x top44 so they are very indica dominant hence the short squaty nature of the plants
yea skiz im a big fan of topping have topped quite a few times yes good temps help i sit a 25c lights on and 21c lights off and yes the 600hps helps alot allows you to get a nice compact bushy plant just have to trim bigger leaves to allow light to penetrate the lower nodes

i thru out all the seedlings i had laying outdoors , ive just got 12 inside now.my old lady and mates think i should be fine the cops didnt even fine me for the 6 seedlings there were so tiny... and i think in melb i will just get a fine for 12 plants "first offence" i hope.@SCG, dude i wouldnt even risk it. Apparently you can refuse a search if they just want to check your house or car, but if they have reason to suspect you got stuff your buggered. I heard Vic is pretty meh about the weed laws though so i donno? Still As the others said i would just get rid of it even if your only a few days off a harvest because its just not worth it. If after a few weeks nothing comes of it so be it but better to ditch it now rather than defend yourself in court
@Street, fuck need to make mods to my tent then!!! I have a hole at a 45degree down (so minimal light enters but still allows air) right in front so the fan can pick it up and then an outlet at the top to allow the hot air to vent. I might chuck another in at the back of the tent to create a cross wind? I need to grab some ply for my walls instead of the shitty plastic i got because then it will be more rigid and i can start playing with exhaust fans and shit. Only one of the plants is yellowing and even she seems to be on the mend now and the others have deff grown in the last few weeks. I marked them yesterday and will see thier weekly growth just for shits and giggles. Ive also doubled feeding schedule but at about 1/4 of the amount i normally give them so that should help feed them without getting thier feet TOO wet. Will update Journal later to see what you think of tent design and plants

Ps. SCG good luck with your problem mate. I really would not risk it dude!!!! Any equipment i would give to a friend and any plants i would give to a friend if you can if not chuck em or at least plant them somewhere not related to you. They may die but at least your ass wont in prison

If we are talking about perlite no it is not expensive. Even at the rip off hydro store it is 40 bucks for 100 liter bag. I do a 80%coco 20%perlite to make my coco go a little farther. The more perlite in the mix the more you have to water. I water once every 2 days in my hempy buckets.

hit the nail on the head it is realy good to use, wheather its 80/20%perlite or like im about to try 50/50% it dont mater
as long as you con sider the following:
a course medium like perlite or expanded clay, would be expected to have a different watering programme to that of a fine medium like coco, or peat, so the more drainage the more frequency of watering is required, the less drainage the less frequent
