Have a quick Question reagarding EC.

Whats a rough plan to follow for EC levels? ATM mine is 3.4 and thats adding all my nutes at only 3/4 strength. Im guessing this is a fuck load though?

Nutes:
Local Hydro shops A + B
Local Hydro Shops Root tonic (nearly run out so will go a new one now. Any suggestion on a cost effective brand?)
Cal/mag
Silica
Hydrogen peroxide

Leave out the cal/mag unless your plants are exhibiting signs of severe deficiency.
Root tonic is great for veg but not necessarily needed for flowering.

Go half strength base nutes to make room for the necessary additive, weather it be high Nit/cal/mag for veg or High P/k/silica/zyme for flowering.

Peroxide sounds great in theory, but I now only use for sterilizing equipment and during the last week of flush (Just to make sure...).
Being able to utilize beneficial bacteria and enzymes for a healthy Rhyzo-sphere without increasing EC and further buffering PH, outweighs the foreseeable benefits of a weekly dose of H²O² IMO, which adds to the EC, weakens the immune system, only lasts for a short amount of time and probably counter-acts your "Local Hydro-Shops Root-Tonic's" BB/Zyme properties.

if you have the american stuff why dont you just buy adaptors otherwise any good hydroponic shop should have it all
the internet has this amazing search engine called google if you where to use that to search for hydroponic equipment in australia im sure u will find everything u need
but enough of the joking around :P
discount hydroponics seems to be a popular choice around here for online purchases

O i thought cal/mag was an always thing to use as im growing in clay balls so it has no ability to get its needed minerals?

Also as for silica you said to use it only for flowering (unless i misread) but doesnt it help create nice fat stems and helps with heat stress?

I got the Pk13/14 and Potash ready to use for flower so donno how it will go if my EC is already so high.

I was thinking of getting some canazyme. You would suggest this (or another brand) over H202?

Other than the nutes i already have what else would you say is needed or atleast noticably good to use? PGR's scare me a little..would you think its worth using them?

@Sittin: I use an old mechanical timer for my 600w and my 52w (i think?) fan and yet to have shit go wrong with it. As Odlaw said google would give you a butt load of places. Bunnings, woolies (yes these guys stock alot of this crap too in the random stuff isle) or if your after ones more suited Discount hydro. Depending on location Hyalite also seems to be good.

Normal tapwater generally has more than enough calcium in it, so unless you are sucking all the goodness out of the water with reverse osmosis filters you shouldn't need to add any.

skiz 3.4 is kinda high. i keep mine at 3.0ish when my plants are big and in there flowering stage. generally i keep mine at about 2-3 during veg depending on what size.

Greetings esteemed Aussies. First post and it comes with a question, I have a closet grow happening at the moment and one little girl has decided to turn some of its leaves 90 degree's to the light. Why would she be doing that?

but sounds to me she just very happy and reaching for the light

Thanks OD, have been reading through the aussie posts in here (loved laceys 2 full grow journals) for info, and have decided to do a journal for my girls. I have piccies just have to get around to getting it all done. They are only a month old from seed so I should get cracking with the journal.

odlaw and skiz thanks, i have use google and spent many hours looking for a place in aus that sells it.
to the guy who said change the amps, i have thought of this, unless i brought everything from the us i would have to go 240 to 120 to the unit aswell as change plugs and then from the unit 120 to 240 and change the plugs. not a small job at all and im sure would cost a hell of alot. i have found one co2 control but its 1300

anyone have a link to a c02 control/greenhouse unit?
the co2 control is all i need, i found the timers for pumps and i have timer for lights. aircon will have set temp and humidity. anything im forgetting

Sorry Sittin don't use Co2 so got no clue mate.

I seem to have made my DWC a lil easier to play with now. Made the res a lil more friendlier to get to and change it out. Also got the EC down to 1.7 (still a lil high for only SMALL plants) BUT i fucked up the Ph SOOOO much. Ph is currently on 4.0 but tomorrow ill get some Ph up and fix it.

I also plan on getting a new Root booster. Thinking of Canna but open to suggestions? Anything else i should get in the veg adds to help my babies?

so i been looking how to make Honey and i must say it looks piss easy?

Unless i have misunderstood it, is it just:
Fill tube (Odlaw said Copper but most ppl use PVC?) with a cap either end and coffee paper at the outlet.
Purge the tube with Butane to get the oil to come off and drain into a pyrex dish
Let the butane evaporate
Done?

Do you add it to actual Honey or other goods? Or do you just add it to the desired food?

thats pretty much it but i would advise on getting stainless tube i settled for copper as i couldnt get stainless at time and i was impatient lol (pvc can be leached by the butane dont use it) and get some cheese cloth from spotlight to filter with tape it to on end with electrical tape other end cap with a small hole for a butane connection to fit in
to get the butane to evaporate just sit the pyrex dish in another dish with some hot tap water in it as heat evaporates the butane dont use boiling water as it may crack the pyrex with to much heat at one time plus butane doesnt need alot of heat to evaporate and do it outside or in a well vented shed

i smoke it man if i was going to cook i would do canna butter or copha
i either heat it up and smear a rolly paper/smoke in it as its kindy like hot tar not runny more sticky i use a spoon to melt it as i found it was easy as the liquid stays in the spoon and just goes sticky again if it cools down to much so easy to reheat
or i get a pin put a small ball on a pin then melt it onto a packed cone then pull away lol
u can hot knife it to and just hold a straw or sumtin over it to suck up the fumes
also u can put it in capsules and swallow it

also dont expect to get heaps out of it from around an ounce of trim and popcorn i get around 2 to 3 g of honey oil but that would probly also depend on how crystaly ya plant is to

Where could you get stainless from that is suitable for food use?

Seems easy enough though lol.

The thing about heating with a spoon sounds so Junkie like :P Ill try make it, but just wondering what you wouls use to put in foods other than butter than? Like making in sweet based products like toffee, lolipops, etc?
