grafting is how new strains come into existence ......well alot of them anyhow if done right it takes on charecteristics of both and then they are clonned and often grafted again but no this is actually how new strains come into existance one of a few ways anyhow ......there are other methods ..but there not as easy .......weed mimmics anything its grown near .....hence why grafting and then cloning from the grafted new growth which is the new strain,,,sumtymes this has to b repeated sumtymes to get the right gentics .......

well fuck me!! someone should go tell all the breeders there wasting there time with pollen and shit lol

im going to have to give this a try.

i was trying to decide between growing all bonsai mothers or just have one plant with a lot of grafts on it for a mother but it seems that grafting would fuck up my mums by altering them?

Have to disagree with most of that mate...IMAG0231.jpgIMAG0230.jpg

Been playing with multi-grafted mothers for a while and watching others do it for ages... all clones from the scion show NO traits from the rootstock... and when these mothers are replaced and flowered out, each scion only produces it's own kind of bud. New strains are developed by crossbreeding, both intentional and accidental and grafting has jack all to do with it. No offence but show me some proof? Coz I'm calling BS

i did say that is was one way of making new strains but yes pollination of crops from pollen rubbing it onto the stem.....is a way that is natural.....and probally the most common......used...but i can prove that the same is possible of...grafting it can be used tocreate new strans given enufff grafting is done to sad plant...ill have to put a vid together and throw it up soon...both of how i was taught to do it and the end results but its viable...and possible tho....

I'll be happy to stand corrected mate but there is no exchange of genetic material on a somatic level. You can use more vigourous rootstock for difficult to clone strains, or even use a rootstock from a more drought/cold resistant strain to grow delicate shit in a rough climate but the clones you take from the scion are the same plant you took the scion from. What you may see is a slight variation in the scions phenotype, due to different expression of its own genes i.e. my scions are far more vigourous after they are placed on the TMB rootstock/mother, because she is able to provide them more nutrients than their own root system would... Life's possibilities are infinite and cannabis has amazing potential for adaptation but what you are saying doesn't make any sense to me...

ima do a new style of graftin ive come across to overcome this problem .......which involves taking partof the root system also ..........n a small section of them ....which is then covered in honey to stop air killing the said plant.

Terrence ... I don't usually say people are full of shyte, but when you start spreading bullshit about genetic material crossing the graft site from the stock to the scion AND saying that the resulting "mixing" of genetic material brings forth new strains ... then I have to say you are definitely full of shyte.

No offence intended - just want to stop you making a bigger fool of yourself.

Thanks for weighing in Grumpy!!! This is the man to listen to when it comes to grafting! And I don't often call BS either.
