Regarding the RIU discount, it still says a sale is going on at the top of Grow Lights Australia's webpage. The discount code Forum will still work for 10% off of non sale items such as Buddies. I think GLA said that the sale item (such as boards and board/heatsink combos) prices are slightly more than a 10% discount off regular prices.
yep-agree there - they will do the right thing by you, promo works, cant go wrong with quality

Hi mate, yes that's right. The discount code works on anything that is not a sales item.

Also, another member recently alerted me to the fact that some of you browsing the site on phones cannot see my signature at the bottom of the page that includes the discount code. This is what my posts looks like if you are browsing on a computer. I'm not sure how many of you can't see the info at the bottom, but as I'm always posting on a laptop I had no idea some couldn't see it.

Also, signatures can be turned off/on via each personal preferences:

if turned off one will never see it (of course), but if it's turned ON and one views this forum via a mobile phone one has to turn it around by 90° and then, the signature becomes automatically visible:

Hope this help.

And welcome back :D

I see you only have plug and play only , is this the way you guys are going with your products, nothing available at present for 1.4 x 1.4 - 1.5 x 1.5 plus, are you going to supply the new boards for the bigger areas if so do you have an approx time frame.. will need more in the next 2-3 months
Just sold my HLG 550x3 will never use their product again, your boards are cost effective , better specs and no drama queen issues.. keep it up.

Have you run out of heat sinks again?
Yes we have mate. We are basically down to our last few original High Light UV boards and have about a dozen High Red boards left in stock, but no more heatsinks.

What we do have is the newest High Light 420 plug and play board that we are in the process of stocking. Actually, we have plenty of stock, but we're waiting on one more part to complete the double board kits.

The new double board kits will look like this and will drop into any area from 0.8m x 0.8m to 1.2m x 1.2m. For up to 1m x 1m we have HLG 320 drivers that output 340W to the boards, and for 1.2m x 1.2m we have 480 drivers that output 470W. These new boards are 20% more efficient than the old boards so are much brighter for the same wattage.

For those who prefer a long board to inrease canopy coverage over a 1.2m x 1.2m to 1.5m x 1.5m we will also offer a 960mm x 206mm long heatsink (just like the original long boards, but a bit longer) which alsoi uses the same connector system as the side-by-side boards below. So plenty of options for any space and budget.

Until we get the new waterproof double connectors for the 340W and 470W kits, we are selling 220W single panel kits that are completley plug and play and come with a water-resitant option. In fact, the new cable and loom system is completely waterproof and we're offering the option of a water-resistat coated LED panel or non-coated. If you don't need waterproofing, then the non-coated boards are a bit cheaper and about 1-2% more efficient.

We will be offering complete kits with drivers in Australia and New Zealand, and driverless kits (including a driver connector for the DC cable) for international growers who prefer to source their own drivers (we can supply drivers as well, but it's usually more cost-effective to source in your own country).

One of the features of the new High Light 420 board is that it is designed to run HARD. These boards are 3 umol/j efficient at 2A but still 2.7 umol/j efficient at 5A – they do not drop off in efficiency as fast as other LED panels. That means you can run them close to their maximum rating to get the best bang for buck without sacrificing much efficiency.

While the High Light 420 board looks a bit "blurple" it has customised UV diodes which have 1x 405nm and 2x 420nm dies with a blue phosphor (Phosphor Coated Blue) to spread the spectrum into the UVA and cyan range. The new boards also have twice as much Far Red light as the old boards (10% vs 5%). The extra Far Red and blue/violet comes at the expense of green light.

This new board is a collaboration between Grow Lights Australia and LED Teknik – LED Teknik provided the custom LEDs – and is the best compromise between spectrum and efficiency we could design. However, the new board is also designed to be able to customise the spectrum for almost any plant species and requirement. It's a bit of funky board, but it has a lot of features.

I am mentioning all this as we have decided to sell the boards as kits instead of stand-alones for now. The reason is because each board needs a special connector and we believe they run better with a heatsink (up to 235W each panel), so these parts normally need to be included anyway.

But if anyone really just wants to buy the boards, then they can contact us. Each board needs a TE connector as per below, so board + connector will be shipped at a minimum.

These boards are a bit more expensive than the originals, but 10% "FORUM" discounts apply and overseas buyers pay no GST – so prices are 20% less than advertised.

Are you still going to be stocking the old boards. I quite liked them especially at the price point they where getting sold at.

Not any time soon. If there's enough demand then maybe, but selling DIY has it's ups and downs, as some people just get themselves into trouble wiring stuff up and then I have to help them, which can take up a lot of time. Designing the plug-and-play system has also taken time, but hopefully I won't have to answer so many emails about how to get things working!

We're also working on something else that might be better suited to DIYers that can also switch over to plug and play, but one thing at a time. We have a lot of ideas, but things do take time if you want to do them properly.

I'm thinking 2 more High Light UV boards for now (total of 4), then a double 420 board kit and put the whole lot together eventually. Oh decisions decisions. Gotta find some heat sinks though to run em hard eventually haha!
We only have a few High Light UV boards left, but we do have some growers who wish to upgrade to the new boards and we have offered them trade-ins, so I'm hoping we can offer second-hand High Lights and heatsinks for a good price. They will be inspected and cleaned and if they are OK we'll offer a 12-month warranty. Technically, these boards should last many years if they are looked after. I took delivery of some of the original boards Prawn had been using for two years and they were as good as new. Someone else bought them cheap and they've had no complaints.
