Auto flower survey

I've grown about 8 different strains from Mephisto and Fastbuds in the last 5 years, all outdoors. All were pretty mediocre in my opinion. I keep hearing that they are improving, but they can't touch good photo periods, effects wise, for me. Maybe some of yall have found some exceptional ones? My main interest is effects.

I've had good luck with Mephisto and Atlas autos inside. I've tried for two summers to grow autos outside without much luck. If I grow outside this summer I will be going back to photos or possibly try out some of the fast flowering photos.

A friend swears by Atlas. He gave me some seeds and sofar i like what im seeing. Super frosty sticky buds.

Outdoor though you might not like them as much considering the daylight limitations of your area.

I'm in OKlahoma, no lack of sunlight here! I've seen some amazing looking autos, the effects have always been lacking, compared to quality photos. I won't grow autos indoors, unless they really improve in potency. It can be fun to harvest fresh outdoor plants in early July, but that can also be done with light dep. My friends grew some Fruit By The Foot from Atlas, but none of them thought it compared to their photo period plants. But, autos are improving, we shall see.

What he means you dont get the really long days like the northern growers get thats why autos work better outdoor the further north you go. I have had zero luck growing autos in maine outdoor in the ground just rot away in mid july sun. have done a lot better with depos by moving in -out each day. Its the same reason you harvest 2-3 weeks before the upper midwest an most of newengland. you got shorter days then us.

That makes sense! I had never thought about that, autos come from ruderalis, (northern stock), after all.

How long did that Zamaldelica take to finish? I love killer sativas!
If I grow indoors I do photo period and I control the veg so I can control the final height. In my 5 short years of growing, my most potent plants were grown outdoors, according to an official state testing lab, for what that's worth.
