Yup I bet she turns to a he! Its just my luck for this to happen, becouse I have an Maxi GOM I could of used instead!

To be honest I'm growing tired of autos, there are only a couple I would grow again, RR, AK, Maxi GOM the rest have been a big dispointment, infact the only 2x 12/12 seed to bud photoperiod plant I have grown, hammered every auto in the same about of time. It seams there are far to many Pheono's in auto and its just pot luck which one you get.

Hi all, Went through and updated my log on this and got to thinking....

This seems to have gone much better than I expected,,, anyone interested in a follow-up re-match? Say around April Fool's Day? Early I know, just putting a bug in your ear. (something to think about);-)

By the way-
Every single one of these plants are looking great!:clap::clap::clap::clap:

I've been scouting for LED info. Thinking of making a switch. But, I dont think they're ready for me yet.:eyesmoke: Getting close though.

I am actually liking growing them. They are perfect for my setup because of the limited space. With 12/12's I need too much room between them, and it seems no matter what I do, they end up in the lights. Once I get a seed stock built up, I think I can get my setup efficient enough to stop paying for smoke. As it is, I can grow some great smoke, just not enough of it.
I am going to be growing these for a while, as I have just cracked 10 russian rocket fuel. I have heard good things about short stuff seeds and think I will be sticking with them untill I get burned. Their onyx strain is also looking very appealing to me.

yes Ive seen some monster Onyx grows, but unfortunalty ened up with a tiny bush that yeilded 1.5 oz, Wasnt to happy. The best 12/12 was my single cola Kandy kush, It looked like a baseball bat and just as hard, just didnt like the smell or taste, got over an oz and it was only 12" long!

I'm in for the next round, this time it will be AK or Maxi GOM. lol you simply carnt go wrong with ak, unless i got seriously lucky the first time lol

If I got some beans cracking in the next window, I have an idea, but it would probably require an exception to one of the rules, or be submitted as an exhibition only. All I am willing to say is that it is something I havent seen done before and I am curious as to how it would turn out.

Bonus picture... pollination complete.

You mentioned that your kandy kush was a single cola. Is there a special technique to get them to grow like that, or is it the genetics? I have always wondered how people grow them like that.

.....an idea, but it would probably require an exception to one of the rules, or be submitted as an...... QUOTE]

Well, to me, any form of exception is simply opening a big can of worms. Usually "exceptions" generate problems because if you make an exception for one, you really need to for another, after awhile the rules mean nothing and things fall apart or degrade.

I tried to make the rules so that anyone could express some artistic creativity in the game. While needing an objective to actually have some resemblence of a competition, I tried to leave them as open as possible.
However, if there is something about them that crimps your growing objective I really would like to hear it. I don't want to do any exceptions, but DEFINATELY not against making a rule change for the next round to allow more freedom in the grows.
(and maybe it is within the rules? - what is it?) Remember, "fold, spindle, mutilate any way you want"? ;-)

Marcus kind of hinted at a issue in a prior post, didn't come right out and say it, more of a hint. And it's actually a rule that I didn't feel comfortable with anyways.
This is running 12 weeks. If you take the early start into consideration it's 13.
Since this is not about growing buds (or shouldn't be) plants really don't need to be finished as in harvesting flower.
I'm having a hard time justifying any reason why this should be limited to just AFs.
Not all, but many photoperiods are capable of being competative in this time period. I'd like to get some input on the idea of simply dropping the AF requirment completely next round and open it up to everyone and their preferred style.

If anyone has any ideas about this (either competator or someone thinking of it) I'm all ears. Let me know.:leaf: (PMs are fine)
Anything that can make this bigger and better I'm all for.

With one week veg, she grow like a hemp plant, not one single branch however ever so short internode length, once she startied to flower, she simply put on weight and stopped growing any taller, never seen a plant do this before, the other was Pineapple express that looked like a RR/ak nothing but branches!

Looking very good Barb's, Could you do a few pictures of the grow tips/tops? Just that I thought we would be further down the road with bud formation by now; maybe we delayed that response with LST? I can’t comment on the Blueberry due to my seed turning out to be a RR, but from what I can see on your video, she has already started. Keep it up!

Canon I never intended to hint, if this is the way a came across then I'm really sorry, I was merely excepting the rules....again lol, I was having a bad day

I feel it would be nice keeping this as an auto flower comp, I would be always adding something, hopefully something better, if not still moan my tits off at something. anyway I was in the local garden centre today and pondered over whether a "Bonsai style" comp would be more suited for your/our experiments using photoperiod plants, when veg time isn't that restrictive with auto’s (not in my case lol),

I must admit Autos are fun, but not as easy to grow as regular strains, it’s a game of frustration, push the board down, set the counter and off you go, if you don’t get the right things in place in the required time it all blows up in your face. Good autos that I have found are the one that are not messed with (happy to be proven wrong), getting the best out of an grow is being lucky, which seed you get (in my experience) I have noticed over last 4 months of searching through peeps’ grow journals, all same batch seeds CAN give all very different plants/pheono’ so unfortunately it’s “pot luck” until they learn to stabilise it more, Onyx for example, I guy (Can’t remember his name) had 4 or 5 growing from the same batch under a 600 hps and yielded one at 5oz! and an another at 1.7 oz? Maybe because of the amount of different strains in the onyx?

Maybe next round we could have differant groups or catergures best looking, yeilding or technique etc, so that voting isnt fixed to what that voters feel is more important.and more of a comp than a populartluty contest between very differant plants and agenda's, it really does open the flood gates to how much fun can be had. However we need to find a stable plan beforelwe go past the point of "too many eggs in the basket" and us becoming more unstable than the Auto.Anyway I'll shut up my face now.

Barbs, medicated? I must remember that next time I crawl home and wake the wife! lol

Erm I'm really being to get rather lost with some of your posts Cannon, either your taking the Mick or just being really sarcastic I really don’t know, to be honest I don’t what to know...

Anyway I let you all know what other trick I put to work, well not much of a trick but something I've heard for a long time and never found a answer, For the last past 4 days I’ve been adding food colouring to the res, In hoping the plant would draw it up and display a different appearance, however it didn’t work!! I used 7 ml of very concentrated solution, but not even a sign in the plant but only in the root zone, I wasn’t to fussed about losing her as yesterday I nearly launched her out my window in disgust. Today I changed her res for the 4 time to help flush dye out pictures below of my surprise-ment of "How many flipping roots?!"

Edit: Thanks Barbs, however that’s the stage I’m at, I have loads of pre-flower at the stem and branches, though your first picture is promising just a little hard to work out, flowering top swell up and look to form lots of single fingered leaves with the white hairs in between, where did you get your seed from if you don’t mind me asking? Your 8 days ahead of me, and the only reason I’m still holding on. Beginning to think of all sorts to why I’ve not noticed buds forming, my plant is no taller than 5 inch’s from the medium, I wonder if height of a plant has any play in this?

holey cow man. that is some major rootage. i have tried that with carnations and it worked. i wonder if it would work on more sativa dominant strains. (talking about the coloring)

Possibly, some of my photoperiods will finish in a few weeks, so that'll free up an HPS, I was thinking of vegging with it and maybe adding some AFs as well. I guess we'll see, I still have lots of seeds I haven't tried and I'm inching to do so.

Although, personally I think it would be cool to have both photos and AFs in the same comp, with different categories of course.

Oh yeah, +rep to everyone who is updating and shit :D
