Wanna grow auto flower between regular seasonal outdoor grow. My big concern is most appear to be very low in potency.
Are the genetics prohibitive of higher levels due to quick life cycle?

I wonder if I start some off in late November in a 8 x 8 green house / flower house in 38.7522° N, 121.2869° W area (near Sacramento California)
under winter skys, grey skys, cloudy skys - will they still auto flower.

For potency I would take Dinafem 'Critical Jack' with a pinch of salt, its a great auto dont get me wrong, but there are stronger. Dinafem AutoHaze 2.0 is meant to be more potent than the rest of their autos, but some of their newer releases look supoib. I want to try the MobyDick Auto or Amnesia Auto. Dinafem are worth reading up on.

However I'm not sure if autos perform well under cloudy skies, Dinafems Autos love alot of light.

You might want to check out DNA's Auto Lemon Haze. This is their write up about it. I do not know about it's potency though.

No special light or light cycle is needed, you can even flower her in your kitchen window (of course a proper 12/12 hour light cycle will give much better results). Our 60 Day Lemon is a perfect strain for the person who has always wanted to grow, but did not want to invest in a whole set up and grow room. Now all of you who never grew can get your feet wet with a crystal filled, lemon flavoured gem.

i'm a total noob still i know, but from my understanding, all autoflower strains are required to get at least 18 hours light a day, constant through the entire cycle.

I fail to see how a 12/12 cycle would bring much out of any auto strain.

Grundy Undies... Light cycles depend on strain more than anything else. There have been a few journals on here and other sites with successful auto grows on less than 18/6. There is one guy who was on a 10/14 cycle and had pretty good results with a NYCD. I personally belive that all plants need rest and prefer my autos at 16/8.

The question you posed about the 12/12 cycle is common. Most are under the same impression as you. Several run their lights 24/7 with success but there are some strains out there that can't handle all the light. With that said the brains at DNA Genetics have bred 60 day autos that need no special lights or light cycle. I do not know how much they yield nor do I know how potent they are.

Research, research, research. Check out autoflower.net too. Read all the journals you can. Ask questions.
