Autoflower VS Non Autoflower Yields

Hey guys I have been growing all autoflowers in my 4x4 tent with autopot in coco and a good CMH light. I was thinking of switching to non auto seeds. I get 16 grams to 30 grams per plant with NL I got 240 grams per plant already. Just wondering how much I could get with 4 non auto plants? Is it worth the extra time to wait?

Yes and you cant put a exact figure on it as theres many variables ie light skill genetics environment etc but you will notice the yield increase thats for sure its worth it id say

Got 28 more auto seeds left going to use them up then switch to normal fem seeds
Speed..
Which auto's are you growing?

Autos as a general rule will fall short of their photoperiod counterpart, BUT should have pretty much the same
Potential as far as potency and terps...
Additionally, you should be able to crank out 75-100 g per plant assuming you are growing them right...which is respectable

Im a huge fan of autoflowers...primarily because I can effectively grow them outside here in central Canada..Alberta.

Are you using 20-24 hr light..straight through from seed to finish?
You need to use the same pot you start them in start to finish.. Transplanting tends to stunt them.
Ponytailing and LST can help open them up a bit for bottom branch develpment

Probably... Only have one tent??? If not grow photos in one and autos in the other then you'll cee...

Photo plants are easier. If there is a problem in veg, it can be extended till whenever you please.

Really have trouble understanding the point of autos at all unless you are growing them outdoors.
They're faster and if you do them right there are some tremendous yields at the end of the road and its good smoke as well!!! My 2 cents...

In a 4x4 if you spread the canopy to match the foot print within a foot thick of canopy and the help of some training technic to spread conopy evently and the minimum 600w power of hps you will get 1lbs + with 1 315 cmh yould be right around that pound more ir less will depend on how you train. And if you remove all useless shoot that will produce insignifiant bud sight so energi can be focus on the upper 12" of bud sight after 3 week of flowering.. On week 4 of flowering the only bud sights sould be within 12" so your traninn should consist of having all or as much has possible all tops on same level during first week of flowering (lowering top spreading sight evently) and gave everything undesurable remove '' useless bud sights" and leaving atleast 1 feet of leaf below but sight. Remove everything below that line atleast 1week befor you put into flowering. Its a question of foot print and density with a period of healing to promot flowering within a certain distance. Most people e prefere growing many plant and flip em once they fill that space.. But it is achievable even with just one plant if you are patient enough to veg this long. Genetic can greatly speed up this phase by reducing vedge time. But all plants can be trained to achived 1 pound with in 1m square foot print. Not many genetic fall under this but some are in lower yielding genetic for sure and the only way they can yield it is with a great air flow to deal with overcrowding.... Good light good flow and good traing. Don't forget to double up on pot size.. Bigger roit system better life support...

That's the only thing I don't like about autos is that you cant really scrog them... They dont really have the time to get into the scrog good...And:fire: :fire: :fire: And I have some autos that would kill in a scrog!!! Imagine a RIPLEYS OG or AVT,CHEMDOGGING... Actually those are the ones that might have enough time to get into the scrog good... Im gonna scrog 2 ROGs!!! And 2 GG4 x CD fems from USEFUL seeds...

I have been growing autos for over a year now. the weed is real good but getting 1oz or so per plant. I had 1 NL auto that got 240 grams. Once all my seeds are used up i am switching to photos for sure!

Autos dont yield as much but perpetual harvest makes up for it. pop a seed once a week, never run out weed. :eyesmoke::eyesmoke:
This.

I'm planting 2-4 seeds every 2-3 weeks. As soon as it's built up, I'm harvesting 2 plants every few weeks without needing a second tent or different light schedules.

That being said: With all the "freebies" I've been getting, I have about 20 photo seeds built up. I'm planning on doing the whole tent as a photo run at some point. 12 different strains at once.

You could do the same with your photo's. 12/12 from seed.

exactly....auto's work very good for outdoor grows in Canada as you can harvest by August or September....not saying that photos can't work out but you have to run them until October or November, which can be a problem when it snows on them :)

@speed420 ......maybe save your auto's for outdoor summer grows and consider trying photos for your next indoor grow.
The cost of electricity is less with photos as you are running 12-12, as opposed to auto's running at 18 hours a day, so just the electricity expense can justify the cost of photo seeds

cheers
