Autoflowering...do you switch them to 12/12???

I have an autoflower strain (dinafem fruit auto) that has shown pistols from almost all the shoots.

I am currently running them under LED and they are currently running strong on about their 47th day from germination.

Do I now throw them under a 600w HPS and switch to 12/12?

HPS is the optimum light for flowering, but everything I have read and heard says there is no need to change the lighting schedule on an auto. Put them under the HPS but stick to 18/6

Thanks for the fast reply!!

I currently have them under 24/0 should I keep it at 24/0 or go down to 18/6?

Also they are currently in a 2 gallon grow bag should I transplant to a larger size?

Thanks!

I would say you should go to 18/6 with the HPS, position the light about 6-8 inches above your plant. Use your hand to feel for heat when making this move because an HPS light is hot. As far as transplanting, if they are getting big enough for you in the current 2 gal. I wouldn't worry about moving them. You risk shocking the plant and stunting growth. Now, if you want them to be monsters than consider it.

Thanks again man! very helpful!

I do want them to be monsters and i'm not sure if it's too late to transplant because dinafem says this strain finishes in 60 days (65 most) from germination.

I want your opinion on this please

Dude if you got that thing under an HPS that fucker would be huge lol. Id say hell yeah if you got one laying around or want to buy one. But keep the cycle on 18/6 if that is what you are doing right now. They respond best to 18/6 the whole life cycle. some are ideal for 20/4 you just have to know.

Like I said, this late in the game you risk shocking your plant. I go 5 gal. so sky is the limit but at this point in your grow it may do more harm than good to move them. I would go with what I got and chalk it up to experience, next time go bigger. Good luck man.

Yes man I have two 600w HPS ready for flowering:lol:

This was one of the few free seeds I received.

I currently have them at 24/0 under LED

Every plant is different, and your conditions may be different than others. The 60-65 days is a guess. Be patient because your plant may take longer, but she will let you know when she is ready ;)

Thanks Jim.

I will follow your opinion on this fruit and keep them in the same bag.

I have a couple others currently growing but they aren't autoflowering. They are also on their 47th day from germination and are all sitting in 2 gallon containers. I plan on letting them finish in a 5 gallon.

Should I transplant now?

24 hours of hps would be a little too much, electricity wise that is. Go either 18/6 or 20/4 and have the off light hours the peak energy billing hours for your area. Just check with your electricity company's website. Usually around 2-6 when everyone is blasting their ac's or coolers... I used a 1000w hps 24 hours for a month and a half, the first month my energy bill shot up, shit u not about 200 dollars... Also, if you don't have a use for that led light during the flowering why not throw that bitch back in there as well... Unless you start vegging more littleuns while flowering goes on.

Yeah, with those you control the flowering. So I would move them atleast 2-3 weeks before I planned on swapping to 12/12. That way they have time to chill out from the stress of moving. You want a healthy stress free plant when you induce flowering.

6 to 8 inches?? That'll burn if it's a DE

I wouldn’t count on the 60 day thing. I’m doing my first two autos that said seed to harvest in 8 weeks and I’m at week 12 now.

The 60 day guy was from 10 years ago. Someone necroed a thread and I was responding to that guy about changing his lights back to 18/6
