Autopots and coco

Yes I have read that generally you want a lower ec especially for coco and let the plants tell you when they need more nutes. I am definitely nervous about getting lockout in this system as it is my first time running it and you can't just flush your plants like you normally would to correct it.
Check for build up periodically, lift the pot out and run some nutrient through it then test the run off.

I use the Autopot 4 pot 15l system, I'm starting my 2nd grow now 2 Mephisto AVT and 2 AVTx3bog, i use MegaCrop 1 part gradually raising PPM to about 500 to 600 seems to keep them happy. 4x4 grow tent, 600 watt hooded hps/mh for the cooler months also have 480 watt QBoard knock off for the warmer months, Sunshine#4 and roughly 25% more added perlite with about 1.5 to 2 inches of clay pebbles in base of the pots. I hand water the autopots till the leafs reach the edges of the pots then i turn them on. Average time for refilling the reservoir from 6 to 10 days depending on how thirsty they are.
Most thoughtful Helpful present my wife has got for me :weed:

But you said you were in week 4 of flower ?¿
And you haven't turned your res on ??
Settle
No I didn't. I said week 4 of flower was nerve wracking...every time problems have sprung up on me it has been week 3 or 4 of flower. I potted up 12 days ago. I'm flipping to flower in a couple weeks.

So I was told to put the root control disc in the pot copper side up. Now I'm reading all kinds of conflicting information and I'm wondering if I just fucked myself by doing this....is it supposed to be copper side down?
Copper side goes up depending on the system and pot size. If your in 3.9 gallon or the smaller version it goes up. The xl I think it faces down.

You can't top feed on this system at all once it gets going. Nutes buildup on top of the pot and if you flush through to get runoff you will mess up your plants.
Do you change your media? I change mine each run. Each flower run is a veg transplant 2 weeks then the timer is flipped regardless of size. Yes it has biten me in the ass but I found phenoes that work for me

Just to let you know. Gold side up. Also the gold wears off but it doesn’t matter. Ive been using The same ones for 6 years. Ive been using the same Sunshine 4 and Promix hp since Ive been using them. I use Dyna Gro Foliage Pro and Dyna mag pro. I just moved and I’m having to add calmag to my water. I run 1.4 to 1.6 during flowering.

I am currently growing a single plant outdoors (on a balcony), with an AutoPot.

The substrate is 50/50 coco/hydroton, with a 1-inch layer of hydroton at the bottom of the pot. No airdome, no air stone.
The copper-plated marix disc is in the bottom of the tray, I can see a few root tips through the bottom of the pot, but nothing has grown into the tray. The copper seems to prune the roots effectively.

Other than that, I can only say that I am thrilled with the results so far. It's truly a hands-off system. I can only visit the grow every 2-3 weeks, and the 47 liter tank (about 12 gallons) is more than able to supply the plant for that long.

It was a problem plant that I put into the AutoPot, and it's a semi-outdoors grow, but everything works more than fine. The baby looks really healthy and vigorous (about 3 weeks into flower right now).
