Yea TWS can grow for sure. I've still got a bowl I'm saving for later ~.^ thanks again TWS. I think the biggest problem with small pots like 5g is that the root get hot really quickly especially if the pots are plastic.

5 gallons is way too small for outdoors, why limit yourself with that? ...I've used 10 gallon containers and even then they get rootbound. I'd advise at LEAST 10 gallons, but 20 much better. Just a few bucks more for the container and extra soil

8oz is a half pound fool. And he gave some decent advise about what the op needs to do to achieve similar results.

huge difference in pots versus in ground.Last yr i used 18 gallon pots had big 5ft plants. They yielded about 6-8 oz each. That was from seed started in may....

When I hear this I really start to question the relevance of pot size. Last year I had a similar size plant in a 3gal pot that produced 6oz after throwing out 2oz of bud compromised by mould. 8oz total...

Does anyone have a similar finding?

How long they veg for before flowering is key. Around here, they veg to nearly four months before flowering, so larger containers are needed. If they only veg a month or two, container size isn't as important

That's an excellent insight / answer. Thank you obijohn.

I sprouted mine April 17, last year they preflowered June 26. So 3 months, a smaller container is perfectly adequate then. My goal is 5-6' and a 1/2 per, I should be just fine in 4-5 gal.

lol TWS meds put my dick in the dirt... id say its safe to say yes.... yes he has grown before ;) this thread has died... but from my expierence 5 gal buckets outside can very with strain and genetics. and would need lots of attention indeed as the plants would absorb, use and presperate the water in one evening with a 5 foot vegging plant. averaging around 4 -16 ozs, again all depending on the strains variables.... im prolli no help tho... jus rambling in a thread.... good luck with ur answer bro and good luck _Tycoon
053.jpg052.jpgwith our short season here in maine we use 5 gallon buckets with the bottoms full of holes and put them down in the moss in the swamp and they get 6 ft by finishing time easily but thats with a june 1st starting time and end sept finish time . 4-6 oz average depending on strain
