B+ Grow

I sterilized and inoculated 6 jars with a syringe of B+ cubensis today.

I wasted the whole syringe on 6 jars, obviously used too much, but I'm not worrying as I have another syringe.

Wish me luck!

Best of luck!

I picked my first ones last night =), i'm pretty pumped about trying them tonight.

and don't worry, once you get some myc growing you can make all the jars you could ever want!

Thanks for the reply, I am really looking forward to it!

woot woot, I've been growing B+ for a couple months now. Man after my first harvest I ate 4 grams and went to the moon. Have had many fun trips since then. I found 1 gram dried will make you like super stoned, and 1.5 to 2 grams seems to give pretty good visuals.

B+ is a good strain. Grows well in a wide range of conditions and gives unusually fat stems and good yields. Good luck on your science project.

This is exciting Day 2 and I am starting to see small white clumps on most of the jars. I would estimate full colonization within a week considering the amount of spores I put in these small jars.

That is some really great growth for Day 5. I don't know about full colonization in a week though. I guess it's always good to experiment and figure out what works for you.

Just a tip, if you have a dry verm layer, putting the jars upside down allows condensation on the inside of the jar to dribble down and wet the verm layer, making it defeat the purpose of it being a contamination filter.

Are they inside of an incubator?

I've had jars take as long as 2 months before 100% colonization, albeit, I used tall half pint jars, which I have no clue if it makes a difference or not.

Are those 1/2 pint? They look like the little 4oz ones.
They are 4 oz.

I put a large amount of cc and I have warm temperature, they are not in an incubator. I just put them upside down for a second to show growth I didn't realize the negative effects, thanks.

Day 6 and this is the most colonized:

Oh my bad I thought they were half pint masons haha.

Anyways nice man.. What type of FC are you using?

Ok guys 4/6 B+ are currently in the Fruiting Chamber and have been in there for about a day.

I tried to go Shotgun FC, basically a Tote Container with holes on each side and on top. 1 Inch of Perlite on the bottom

I will be fanning and misting them twice a day. They will be getting a few hours of light from a window every morning.

Here's a good pic:

The other 2 I will leave colonizing for a few more days, even thought they are very white.

It's been 3 days for the corner ones in the fruiting chamber and for the middle ones.

The corner ones smell like shrooms, like a nature kind of smell, really cool. I hope they pin within a week. I have been fanning twice a day and misting once.

Since I put the two middles ones in they have been developing a little fuzz, I read on shroomery that is ok and comes from little FAE. This would make sense considering I started work a little while ago and can't fan as much anymore (once a day), here's some new pics...

I started 12 quart bags of B+ about 4 months ago and they never fully colonized- I was guessing they dried out before they could finish. There was no contamination in any of the bags. They just sat in the dark and about 2 weeks ago a buddy came by and picked up the bags that were the most colonized. He took them home, took them out of their bags, dunked them overnight and put them all in a plastic container. He called me last night to tell me there are like 150 pins on the bricks, very healthy and he'll be by in a week or two with a bag to enjoy. I gave up on them, but he didn't and he's being rewarded. I can't wait!

Looks like they gray growth was contamination, I just checked back today and they developed an intense green fuzz, the corner ones are still looking real good though, I threw out the two contaminated ones.
