Hi everybody! I recently purchased a 400W Pulse Start Metal Halide Ballast ANSI M155. 400W Mh.jpeg 400W Mh 2.jpeg I am going to be using it to Veg, I want to purchase the best light possible for this ballast. Which light is better for the job ?

This is my first grow and the plants are currently vegging under 17000 lumens of cfl lighting ranging from 6700k to 5000k..

My intention is to run the MP 400W/BU/UVS/PS/EM/950 Pulse Start Lamp If I can and simultaneously run 2x 40Watt 5000k CFL's, 2x 40Watt 6500K 48" T12's and 2x 26Watt repti-glo 2.0's 6700k. Would this be okay to veg lets say 10-12 plants?

Thanks in advance! :leaf:

One of them is 4000k and 41000 lumens and the other is 5000k at 30500 lumens. The 1st one gives off more light, but i think 5000k is a better spectrum of light for vegging. I'd probably go for the one at 5000k. You should be able to find MH bulbs which give off the right spectrum and have a higher lumen output. The site you are looking at doesn't specialise in grow lights.

Depending on your grow area you will need a minimum of 3000 lumens per square foot. Aim for 5000 lumens if you can. There's some info on bulbs here.
