So uh for the last like 7 months I've been using a 600 watt ballast and 600 watt HPS, until recently I switched to 1000 watt and 1000 watt ballast only to realize the whole time I was using a 400 watt ballast with a 600 watt light. No problems whatsoever were noticed though.
