i fumbled around getting them to this point but they're ready to go

i still don't know what i'm doing so these may not go so well.

either way i'll update results here

i was originally going to do BRF cakes but this supposed to be simpler

these are ban lipa yai from mycrotopia.net

last night i soaked em for 24 hours, then simmered for 1 hour

i'm swapping jars of hot water in and out of the cupboard i put them in to warm things up but i'm not home 100% of the time. the ambient temperature in the room is 78f.

do you think it will be a problem?

i want to get a thermostat and attach it to something to warm it up in the space so that whenever it goes below 81 it will warm it up. like an aquarium heater sealed into a jar of water or something

78 degrees is perfect, I would not go higher than that. I keep my house at 72 and it takes a little bit more time for everything to colinize. At your temp the mycillium will take off and should be done in 10 to 12 days roughly. when you see the jar is about 25% white shake it so the mycillum gets mixed up in the popcorn and the jars will colinize faster. I fill my jars about 3/4 full so I have room to shake. If you do not have extra space in your jars do not fret over it.Only thing it will do if it is full is take a few more days to get a fully white jar.

thanks stonestare. sounds like i am safe then

i did leave about 1/3 before pressure cooking so there is plenty of space for shaking. i will post pictures as soon as i see some white stuff, and shake em up when you suggested

i looked at the jars today and there is the tiniest outline of white fuzz around a few of the kernels at the bottom of 2 jars. not even a 1mm thick

ac is off today and the temp is around 82 in that room

i don't think the camera could capture it. but i thought i'd update to see if these are on track
