Barn storage setup with 400 watt light, scetchy for infa red durring winter?

Hey i just had a question for those experienced indoor growers who would know a thing or two about security, i want to stick a 400 watt system in this bard closet like storage area, abour 9 by 4 by 3.5 and was wondering if i should worry about infa red detection durring winter time, i live in wisconsin which gets reall chill durring the winter, and helicopters can be spted flying over my area like at least ounce a month. if they were searching during the winter, this barn isnt insulated and would be totally open to the cold (exept for my set up of course) geting in the 30-below zero and if they were to be searching it would eluminate like a big neon arrow saying "hey i grow weed bust me" you no? is there anything to really worry about?, can they legally randomly give infa red tests? and if so can they legaly do anything with that info?

yeah im alittle worried but have the need to make alittle money; like smell proof it or make sure that light cant leak out? cause i can do both im just woried about the legal thing, i dont know the law to well...

I don't think leo is allowed to use infared anymore!...something about the privacy issue...you should check the NORML site and also your state laws.

i think it was about 4-5 years ago senate ruled that use of FLIR is unconstitutional not to say they dont use it bust wont stick i wouldnt be all that worried if i were you i would try to insulate your closet a bit but i doubt 1 light even a 400 watt with a little insulation is going to set off any alarms even if the eye in the sky breaks the law and uses infrared to look for indoor grows

yeah i herad that they couldnt use infa red for a warrant somwere to but wasnt sure, i definetly will need to insulate the room, yeah ill check that site out

most growers who get busted told someone,or are stealing power bypassing the power meter or just taking it from a neighbors all the bust in my area they were stealing power do a search on google and see for yourself.So if u just pay your power bill u should be ok. A small space heater is 1500 watts so 400 is nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it. only a few places in wisconsin that really cracks down and looks for growers on a regular basis wausau/merril area ,madison, and milwalkee.

hell its a barn, something has to keep the livestock warm, lol
