Barney's Ayahuasca Purple, Week 7

Starting to get a little colour. Had a mishap with using old nutes that had fallen out of suspension and bucked up the pH long enough to burn tips and edges overnight. Oh well. Still looking plump, healthy and frosty. Scent profile has evolved into a still very gassy but now more floral/diesel/vanilla/lemon with a hint of skunk/rotting meat/pine in the tail. Very complex.

I grew that one a while back and it was OK but didn't help with my joint pain or depression at the time so it went bye-bye.

I recall it was a nice plant but damned if I can find any pics and I take lots.

So many strains, so little time.

Never grown this before. I smoked an immature bud I plucked and it put a smile on my face. We'll see! I felt the way you did about the last strain we ran, Black Cherry Punch from Pyramid Seeds. Grew a round, tried another with some clones. Pretty plant as well but boy I really, really didn't enjoy the smoke. Did nothing for me. Again, we'll see!

That is the way of cannabis it seems. One person's killer strain is another's meh. I've been using pot for over 50 years and now mainly for medical use so I'm more interested in strains that help with what ails me that whether it blows me away. Been growing lots of hi- CBD strains that will work for arthritis in me and my friends that also suffer from the aches and pains of aging. I hunted for ones to deal with chronic depression and never really found one that gave more than temporary relief so got some magic mushrooms and tried microdosing a couple years ago. That actually worked and not only did it fix my depression but got rid of alcohol cravings so at the end of May I'll be sober for 2 years.

I have a couple dozen strains waiting to be grown out if I have time. Couple good CBD ones and one called Paonia Purple Paralyzer that's supposed to be near narcotic and great for pain of all kinds. Sugar Black Rose is nice too from a few buds my buddy gave me along with some seeds. Another buddy back east sent me 4 clones, 2 each from different mothers called Cherry Noir that has a unique smell and taste I like muchly. Planning to make fem seeds of each and cross them with each other. The original seeds cost him and a buddy $550US for 10 seeds so it's got to be good or they're suckers. :)

Really wanting a pure CBD strain so my 95 yo mother can use it without getting high but as hard to locate as a unicorn it seems.

Nothing wrong with the Ayahuasca and I did love the buzz but it didn't seem to push the right buttons to keep for meds.

Hey there….can I ask you a question? U seem to have tried a bunch of different strains looking for certain effects and relief for various ailments. I am one of the rare birds that grows cannabis but doesn’t smoke it. I used to be a daily user and loved everything about it. But at some point I began experiencing terrible anxiety and feelings of panic. I had to stop. It’s been 15 yrs or so since I was a regular smoker.
I had grown quite extensively right after college for about 10yrs….but that ended too once I stopped using. About 3yrs ago it became legal in my state and I decided to fire up an indoor grow space. It’s went better than I imagined and I’ve given away more top shelf bud than you can imagine. While my popularity has grown, I’m bummed out that I can’t enjoy it like I used to.
What would u recommend growing that I may be able to handle?
About 6mos ago I tried a small brownie that was made using a tiny tiny concentration……and I had high hopes of enjoying it. Well after 3 hrs I had forgotten I’d even eaten it, when the buzz whacked me over the head and I was in a state of nervous anxiety for the next 5 hours. Perhaps an edible was not the right choice.
Growing has really brought me a lot of enjoyment and I’ll keep doing it regardless…..but I’d like to know if I’ll ever be able to puff again.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Have you tried any strains with a good amount of CBD in them? Or even a pure indica strain as strong sativas like the Kali Mist I used to grow would give me a severe anxiety attack if I hit just a bit too much in my pipe. Worked great for my depression and I never suffered anxiety as part of my depression so was quite alarming when it happened. I crossed the Kali with NL#5 and the resulting bud worked for the depression and I could hit lots without the anxiety.

If you 'green out' from edibles a double shot of liquor will take the edge off really fast. Still be high AF and maybe a little tipsy from the booze but the anxiety should disappear.

If you're legal now you should go to a vendors and ask for a strain with a good amount of CBD in it. Different kind of buzz too that to me feels like being tipsy on booze and puts a grin on my face. On a trip out to BC to visit family about 7 years ago I bought 1g samples of 5 strains to try and one was Island Sweet Skunk CBD. 12% CBD and 7% THC so about a 2:1 ratio and just toking helped my joint pain really well so I bought 10g to take home and make cocobudder with. Best meds ever for me.

I give away a lot of bud and make RSO for friends fighting cancer or pain. Have lots of pot in the freezer to process into oils then will be sending samples to a lab in Vancouver to get real numbers to help make meds of specific dosages. One batch will be many strains of regular THC pot and teh other will be a mix of hi-CBD strains. Made for meds and not smoking so will be full plant extracts that would taste like crap to smoke but would still get you wasted.

The way of cannabis indeed, my friend. I don't have as much time behind the wheel as you; been smoking and growing for about 30 years now, spent about 10 of those years running large scale grows, culminating in a 200 lamp grow. All that "SFV" and "818" .. "Valley Kush" "Pre 98 Bubba" "Kosher Kush" ... etc. That was us man! That's the 90s in the San Fernando Valley, southern California. I'm a throwback from that era. Moved to Canada a few years ago to grow up here. Trying to get the ball moving is like pushing Indiana Jones's boulder back up the ramp. The government is VERY, VERY involved in grows up here. So, for the time being, the team and I are breeding and phenohunting. I still have a Black Cherry Punch seed from Spain if you're interested, it's the one I wasn't fond of, but here's a pic of the bud. I have a weird feeling you would love this. Other people who smoked it said I was nuts and it was so relieving/relaxing for them. For me, I felt like I didn't even smoke. Like you said, one person's killer..... I'd be happy to lettermail the seed to you for free. Up to you. Let me know bud. Hope life continues to shine brightly on you my friend.

I have so many strains waiting for my attention now that tho I thank you for the offer I will have to respectfully decline. I got lots at Overgrow and another site devoted to FreeCannabis and various people IRL.

I worked for a time at a large biker grow in the Fraser Valley but wasn't into that. I've grown off and on since '78 but when I moved to northern Alberta in '01 I had 6 hash plant clones with me and there's never been a day since that there isn't some pot plants growing in my house.

I'm sure I'd probably really love it but it might just end up waiting in my fridge for years with the rest and never get sprouted.

A guy recently sent me 7 seed packs of crosses he's been working with and I've promised to try a couple. Never heard of most of them.

Ashava Valley X Mac1, Stockton Slap, Meat Breath, Chem Dawg
Stockton X Mac1, DeadHead OG
FreakShow IBL fem
Demon Auto IBL

Ashava Valley Cheese is a very resinous and monster yielding Indica dominant variety.
This F1 hybrid variety is a cross of our Aztech Genetics Cheese with a very carefully selected Afghani indica.

Large yields as well as a strong heavy hitting indica high make this a popular choice for commercial growers. Her heavy resin production makes Ashava Valley Cheese a good choice for hash making and concentrates. Her stems rapidly fill out during flowering giving some strong, sweet and spicy smells. Good filtration is advised late in flower if smell is likely to cause issues.

Ashava Valley is an area of Afghanistan famous for it’s Cheese.

This strain typically has a THC content of 23% and higher.
---------------------------------------------------------------

The oddly-named Stockton Slap is a limited edition hybrid cross of Sherb Face and Bitch Slap. Yields are average to high with very high levels of THC.

Stockton Slap displays some lovely dark colours and remains quite a compact plant with less stretch than its OG ancestry might suggest. It exudes powerful smells during florescence and requires some form of odour control such as carbon air filters. Buds are densely-stacked with yields average to high. Flowering times indoors fall withing the 8 - 10 week range, occasionally one week longer than this. The very best pheno-type was dark purple in colour and covered in trichomes. Good commercial potential.

The range of scents and flavours found with this strain includes raspberry/grapefruit fruit tart with chemical cleaner and lighter fuel notes! THC levels fall in the range 24 - 29%, with high levels of expertise this may well creep into the lower 30s range.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deadhead OG x Stockton Slap
------------------------

DeadHead OG (aka 91 OG) is a mostly sativa variety from Cali Connection and can be cultivated indoors (where the plants will need a flowering time of ±56 days) and outdoors. Cali Connections DeadHead OG is a THC dominant variety and is/was also available as feminized seeds.

Cali Connections DeadHead OG Description

Logo The Cali Connection The Cali Connection DeadHead OG This is the famed Original 91 chemdawg AKA the skunk VA cut. as it was the only verified cut chem gave out. his online screen name is Skunk VA. hence the reference..The legend of legends. the creator of so many legendary strain like OG Kush, Sour Diesel and so forth. This cut was crossed to my SFV OGK F4 male. think Lemon Funk skunk...

Type: 60/40 Sativa/Indica
Flowering time: 8 weeks
Yield: 600+ grams/m2

A pic of ones he's making to get into the commercial seed market.

So many strains . . .

I'm mostly into indica crosses and CBD now after years of loving and growing sativas. Need those meds! :)

So much info here. Thank you for taking the time. I'm going to come back to this later when I can give it it's deserved attention. I just remembered I have chili on the stove that should have been removed 2 hours ago.

Chili like spaghetti sauce is always better the longer it simmers. I just had a plate of spaghetti with yesterdays heated up sauce and it was better today.

Wasn't sure I could eat as I took a microdose cap earlier on an empty stomach. Man I got a flush from the B3 that started in my face then worked worked down slowly to my toes. Better eat something first next time. :)

Hella great thread here. Thanks, everybody. :)
at the end of May I'll be sober for 2 years.
Congrats, Mr. OMU!
at some point I began experiencing terrible anxiety and feelings of panic. I had to stop.
I've had that many times in my years. I quit for 25 years, until about 5 years ago when it became legal. So, about 3 yrs ago, I got some maui wowie, and wow what a panic attack. I still have 2 or 3 jays left of it in a special blue tube. I like OMU's suggestion to have some alcohol. Also, eating sweets'll bring you down, and lately, I think i've read that doing some CBD'll alleviate anxiety/panic.
I give away a lot of bud and make RSO for friends fighting cancer or pain.
I see more of this in RIU then I ever thought I'd see anywhere. I think you people are saints for this. Grow it, give it to ppl who need it for pain and health. God bless every one of you in here who do this. I read about all kinds of RIU members who do that very thing. Grow it, give it. Just like in the 1960s. "A friend with weed, is a friend indeed." :bigjoint: I never fully realized how true that was til now.
I tried a small brownie that was made using a tiny tiny concentration……and I was in a state of nervous anxiety for the next 5 hours.
I've eaten in the past, and had a very similar effect, 40 or 50 years ago. In the past couple years, I have eaten chocolate, the whole bar, drank a soda pop, and both times nothing. From my past experience, though, I won't venture into edibles if I don't have to. If the high is wrong, it'll last too long, (he waxes poetic).
Another buddy back east sent me 4 clones, 2 each from different mothers called Cherry Noir that has a unique smell and taste I like muchly.
Now that's got me intrigued. Love a good smell, smoke, and high, trifecta.

Yeah my buddy says the same thing…..smoke some C- and only take one tiny puff at first….then Eventually work up to the stronger strains
