Basement bugs?

If you have an unfinished basement and it has the usual spiders down there.. will they invade the plants? I usually grow in a tent but I'm looking to clean up my basement and use this big empty space that is available to me. Its 7x5 room.

When I setup my basement I cleaned it super well and then I used a paint sprayer to paint all the walls and up in the floor joists (all white). I wanted to epoxy coat the floor but budget and time didn't allow for it.

Spiders are natural pest control. No reason to get rid of them they do no harm to plants whatsoever. I keep them around my basement room.

The only pests to worry about indoors are usual cannabis pests (thrips, mites, etc...).

Get your IPM going for those cannabis pests and you’ll be golden.

Yep as the poster above said Integrated Pest Management. Your daily/weekly/monthly routine of whatever you use to control bugs or mold. As long as you have your IPM down basement grows should be good to go. My flower room is in basement of an extremely old house so there are many bugs down there. Only things I've had problems with is the occasional cricket family moving in which is an easy fix. My bigger problem in the basement is temperatures in the winter. Gets cold as hell here in MI.

I love winter runs, amazingly awesome. My AC units don't have to work as hard. The secret is to have two flowering rooms on a flip and if not using the whole basement you should portion off a section to conserve heat. Running on a flip you can use the heat from the lit room to keep temps up in the unlit room.

Yeah I veg in another room upstairs but I have considered splitting my flower room in half for that very reason. I am lucky to not have issues in the summer it stays relatively cool but my first winter here I didn't know how cold it got down there and my flowering plants turned purple and slowed to a screeching halt lol. I now finish my last flower round around October/Nov and just do a small flower or seed run (I run a seed company) upstairs or take Dec/Jan/Feb off.
