Bay area clones

I just got some clones of gorilla glue and ghost og from elemental in san jose. They all look really nice, I was pleasantly surprised. The last time I had bought club clones was a while ago from progressive options down in LA, they all looked like they had plant AIDS.

As far as broad mites go, theyre fucking brutal and thousands of cuts are going into gardens all over with people unaware that theyre infested or how hard its gonna be to get rid of them. Once youve had them you can spot the familiar grossness that the infected plants exhibit. I think people are going to be even more weary of sourcing clones from clubs and randoms over the next couple of years and that a fair amount of commercial grows that dont incorporate aggressive IPM strategies will be forced out of the business.
I have a feeling, that the GG4 is going to end up like another blackberrykush, or bluedream. Everyone's gonna be growing it. Mite as well be me also:bigjoint:

Dude, i went on a solo trip to Elemental on wednesday. 7hr round trip. Got the GG4 I wanted, but only 12. Wtf! Thats lame. I knew I should have gotten one of those bigger scripts last renew:-D And here I was planning on picking up way more cuts. I was hoping on some of that Bluefrost rite next to it. And some Ghost, and a couple other flavors to try as well. Oh well. Next time I go back there(my old hometown)i'll call up some buddies, so I can get more cuts. I was in a super rush, trying to get it done, miss traffic, and get home to watch the game.

What is the familiar grossness from the
Broad mites? I know about the claw/curled leaves. Any others to watch for?
I hadn't picked up cuts from a club in more than 2 yrs.

Man 880 is the devil! glad you missed the traffic. If your next trip is friday or saturday I can probly go with you if you need. The grape apes, and Lavenders I have gotten from there have not made me happy though, really bad pheno's or a lie from the cutter/ farm. the cbd heavy clones I have gotten from them where spot on. Very soon they will only be able to sell in house flower , clones etc, new laws in San Jo.

Yeah I had wanted to check out the glue but figured it would be tough to get them. Fortunately I was there right as they were about to bring out some new trays. I just got 5 of each. When I try out a new strain now, just to be cautious I only flower a couple out the first time..just to watch for any intersex/seeding and to verify legitimacy. By the time the first run is over I have big healthy mothers that I can take a bunch of cuts and blow up a room with.

With the broad mites, yeah..the messed up new growth tips. Ive seen it referred to as rams horns. When the leaves are flat the edges of the blades turn up especially near the base The lush color just slowly starts to drain from plants. It can resemble root bound plants too, feeble new growth with little internodal spacing. If theyre on flowering plants..the buds com out misshapen and not sticky. If on rooting clones, they either wont root (OG) or will come out crispy, yellow and sick looking. The only way to truly know is looking thoroughly over the affected leaves with a 60x or greater scope.

Like the other guy mentioned, translaminar miticides are what need to be used (on clones/veg plants and mothers). I like Avid,Pylon and Kontos. Forbid/Judo works but it burns plants very easily. Ive heard that triple action neem (70%) works, but the Aza products dont. Theres a massive thread on ICmag about broadmites that I read when I was dealing with them, great info..plus some university pdfs of ag studies and stuff like that.

View attachment 2903197 This is From DHN's twitter page. They're claiming this is their SFV OG. Seriously? Has anyone at DHN ever seen an og kush plant? They might as well just put up a picture of a pineapple and say that's SFV OG too. DHN, Ain't nobody got time for that.

Here are the DHN strains I've tried and what I Know about them...

"SFV OG"- Fake. Cali conn gear. Prone to "dudding syndrome", most likely due to broad mite toxins. It seems that DHN may have had a bout with broad mites at some point but got them under control. Unfortunately, the toxins will linger in their mother plants and effect a large percentage of their clones. The lucky few that grow normally are a decent representation of OG but lack the deep rotten lemon pinesol smell that an og has to have to be worthy of the og name.

"Romulan Grapefruit" AKA "bammer"
- Very vigorous in veg, prolific branching, very easy to root, low quality finished flowers, low yield. A DHN employee once confided to me that they only kept it around because it's so easy to grow and clone. A real cash cropper for an unscrupulous clone vendor. Decorate this turd with lights and ornaments, makes a wonderful Christmas tree.

"Chem4"- HUGE yield of mediocre buds. Smells like the clone only but for some reason the smell is very faint with this one. This is the best strain of theirs I've tried but I wouldn't run it again. Lacks the potency and flavor I'm accustomed to.

"Alien OG"- Absolutely beautiful plants, very easy to grow, amazing visual bag appeal, won't get you high and smells like hay. Some say it's all show and no go. There are some great phenos of alien og around but the DHN one is not one of them.

"Fire OG"- Fake. Haven't grown this one but it's also a cali conn creation, not Raskal's clone only Fire cut that everyone wants.
Not sure what you did wrong but the purple cadillac and blue dream my brother just finished were top shelf for sure. Blue dream is blueberry and the p cad is grapes.

I've only bought a couple clones and I got them both from Harborside health center. They update there clone list on a daily basis on there twitter account for there Oakland and San Jose locations. I like how professional the people are at Harborside, and some of there employees know a lot about growing which is helpful.

Bump..

Is organicann still legit for clones? I picked up a cherry pie, purple urkle from them in 2017, dank-AF. They won't post their cuttings list or tell you over the phone anymore, so I guess I have to drive 7 hours round trip to see what they have...

Anyone try Romulan from dark heart?

Or their Blue Dream? I grew their blue dream indoor in 2017 and it was so kind...super dark blue terps, covered in resin. I got another cut from them in 2019 and grew it outdoor, and it wasn't remotely the same...a lot more bright in terps, too citrusy, not nearly as frosty. Could totally be the grow conditions difference, I wasn't dialed in, and I had some hot days in flower...anyone else with experience?

Is their grape ape good/still good?

Haven't tried their Romulan and they dont list an official source to it so im unsure about it. The Grape Ape is apothecaries GA and supposedly a few members have it and have grown it out and from their pics is looks legit, but im unsure if it is the original.

Romulan genetics is apparently the source for romulan, and he was a guest on the Adam Dunn Show a few weeks back, kinda explains the origins...was convoluted and I was high, so need to relisten to it. I'm about to pick up a cut of the Romulan and test it out...such a legend, how can I not?

Anyone grow PCG's Wedding Cake? I was a little disappointed in the weak terps, but maybe I didn't grow it right. There were some people asking about the origin of PCGs cut on IG, but the response from PCG was unclear. I have been super impressed with a lot of PCG's cuts, especially their slurricane and candyland.
