Baywatcher's Basement Blowout

Today was basement cleanout, the friend I've been helping came over and we knocked it out in about 5 hours interspersed with oil and espresso. I've still got a few more things to move out, but 90% of it is cleaned out. We also made a materials punchlist for what we need to do the walls so that next session will be meet at Home Depot and go nuts -- but will have to wait until the minisplit is installed.

Thoroughly scrubbed my cloner and started up a new cycle. I got one of those intermittent timers that lets you set on time/off time in seconds/minutes. I run the pump for 5 minutes, then off for 15. Also moved a bunch of plants out of 2 gallon pots and into 7 gallon pots. Still have three to move, waiting on the geopots to get out of the washing machine sterilize cycle. The minisplit is somewhere between Florida and here...

TC, in eye- and glass-related news, I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow, I'm breaking down and getting prescription shade 3 boroscopes. I just can't see up close anymore.

I just bought my first pair of glasses a few weeks ago. Just some economy frame philips shade 3s. I'm thinking I should have gotten the shade 5s in the first place because I already wanna upgrade. I bet you'll love have the prescription lens. Are you getting aura lenses?

Minisplit arrived, pulled the crap out of my hamstring getting it up my driveway. In what can only be considered a miracle, my installer will be here tomorrow morning to deal with it. He's an electrician, and is adding a new 100 amp subpanel for everything in the new rooms as well.

When I got laid off at the beginning of the year, I said to my wife "Because I telecommute, I don't think they have any idea all the shit that I do."

It has now been right at six months. Just got an email from the guy who was my boss there for the first half of my 7-year tenure saying essentially "hey, I've now been put in charge of a lot of important shit, much of which you know about and nobody else seems to. Would you be interested in rehiring?"

I spent half an hour in the warm glow of "I *TOLD* those motherfuckers it was a mistake" before replying "hell yeah."

We'll see if he can get it through HR, a lot of gigantic orgs are strange about re-hires...

I'll celebrate when I have an offer letter, right now it's just an intriguing possibility...

What *is* reality is that I now have a working minisplit and 12-light flipbox! I've picked up a bunch of extra hoods and bulbs, the next step is actual construction.

Man 12 lights is gonna be awesome!! Between you and twitch I'm really getting an itch to expand. I don't have the money to build anything like you guys though. If I had the space I would be addin one light at a time. But alas I don't really hVe the space.

Well, it's only going to be 5 lights per side, not six, just for power consumption purposes.

On other news, thrips are back again. I hit them with spinosad spray, and will be using it as a soil drench for the next few weeks again. At least this time, I knew what I was seeing and caught it early.

In other news, my wife has been in the hospital for 3 days now with asthmatic bronchitis. After a week coughing with what we assumed were seasonal allergies, by Saturday night she was having real trouble breathing. I apparently caught it from her at some point, but as soon as my throat started itching yesterday I made a doc's appointment and am now hopped up on antibiotics, cough syrup and an inhaler. At least I'm avoiding the oxygen tent...

Needless to say, basement construction is on hold for a bit. Just dealing with the thrips wore me out.

Damn Bay that sucks sorry to hear it. I hope your wife, and you get feeling better. That sounds like some serious shit. Get some rest and break out the edibles.

Wife is home, I'm still running just enough fever to be miserable.

On the good news front, I got 6.5z off of the Cotton Candy plant I harvested last week, by far my best yield ever off a single plant in dirt.
