Thanks brother, I appreciate it! I'm digging the A51 panel, it's a beast! It fell like 7 feet and lived too... solid ass panel.
haha no way it fell 7 feet!! ? I know they are heavy!! I can't believe it kept running!! I bought my tent an inch or 2 too high for my basement and I had to cut the frame a bit, the good thing is my light is hung on the cross beams of the house! Anyway good thing (so far for me anyway) is I dont really move the light, the light intensity is such that my younger plants are further and just grow to it, literally, I have plants at all stage of growth but the light stays the same all the time.

Brother Beef Could You Explain Your Water Cure Method
Sure man, it's super easy!

Trim your bud up nicely (of course :D), and gently place it into a jar. Make sure you don't knock any trichomes off! Then use filtered/RO/bottled water and fill up the jars very gently by running the water down the side of the jar to avoid knocking trichomes off the bud with the water. Drain the water off very gently everyday until the water isn't cloudy when you check on it. I do it for a week! The water will pull the chlorophyl out of the plant, leaving the oils, and THC where they remain, inside the plant! It makes for smoother, more potent, smoke. It does yield less, obviously because you're removing more from the buds than a regular cure. You will also lose some of the flavour of the bud, but I think it's a small trade off! You get cured, potent bud, 7 days after harvest! I don't sell buds, so I do this because I'm impatient! :D It's a great way to keep youreslf smoking while the rest air cures! Off of the Nevilles and Widow, about 1/2 of the buds I kept are being water cured. I only keep the best, hardest, fattest nugs - the rest are used for oil, hash, butter, cooking oil, and tinctures! :)

I really didnt like water curing, I can usually smoke my buds after drying for 4 days (not cured but still good enough to test it) plus you still got to dry the buds after so it's more like 10 days, I would never do it again using good quality marijuana because in my opinion it ruins it ... Its ok for personal consumption but when I did it I lost all flavor, its good if you want to smoke in public to do a little bit I guess but I like I said I will probably never do it again, if you have never done it dont do too much the first time...

Though no one has asked, whenever I run a new strain I try it many many times, and the weight of total harvest is usually halved the first time I run a new seed. 3 days before harvest at 90% Cloudy/ 7% Clear/3%Amber I run my first test, herb is heated in oven on 140-170 for about 15 minutes. This gives me a good idea of what the raw thc power will be, don't count on it having the same effect beyond intoxication level, usually the terpenoid profile will change how our brains perceive the high. I personally think that it's because our olfactory abilities are so highly tied with longterm memories, cannabis being a plant that alters our hippocampus abilities could strongly correlate, although I hold no degree in plant biology and have only apprized myself of the raw data.

At harvest of 90-95% cloudy/10-5% amber I usually harvest. Although I have found that certain sativa dominant hybrids benefit from a 85% cloudy/ 15% amber; such as Caramel Ice. It gives a better "lost in thought/relaxed/anti-anxiety" effect rather than the "hunger alteration/euphoria/paranoia" that many sativa dominant varieties seem to dominate with THC and THCV. It can be a bit boring having the same old strains for a month or two at a time, and it's nice to have variety. As my mother lovingly used to say "Paranoia will destroy ya!", although she has since discontinued the use of this phrase. I find that with a higher amber content, the time of day effects the high. In the morning Caramel Ice can't put me back to bed, I feel just as alert and even energetic, but in the evening it will knock me out especially if I'm in a comfortable position.

Beyond that I check the cure once a week after semi-optimum humidity has been established in the drying room, humidity should be lowered extremely slowly once below fungal threshold. I like the buds to not quite roll when smoked before the initial cure. After a week the ember should roll by the third ignition, two weeks the second ignition, and three weeks it should roll from the first hit and should only be lit once. I dry in open glass jars that have an inch between the wall and the mouth of the jar, I find that this makes the buds cure/dry rather than just dry out in a few days. I used to grow in a place that had several lakes and streams running through town and it would take almost 8 day for the buds to dry in my hanging room, at first I though it was a disadvantage, but the buds had a sweeter smell/taste than any of my friends had before. It was a revelation, drying out wasn't just about removing the water from the plant, it was about slowly doing it so that the living branches had to slowly react to this loss of hydration.

I guess I treasure every stage of the grow. Popping seeds, nurturing the young teens, and pressuring them as they turn towards adulthood, and comforting them in their final days. I'm a frequent humanizer of all things. They are the gentlest things on the planet, and they do nothing to hurt you.
I suppose that's why,

Ok, so the water cured bud is done!

It's sooooooo smooth!!! However, it has lost a significant amount of flavour and smell as well.

My gf is a patient who also has Asthma, she absolutely loves the water cured stuff, packs a whallop, and very, very easy on the lungs!

I also made some butter with some trimmings! :D

I see you dont fill your jars with water while water curing, when I did I was worry that whatever that sticks out of the water would potentially rot or go bad on me so I filled the water to the lid I was putting something on top of the buds to keep them submerge in water, cant remember what it was though. You may want to try this out just to be on the safe side I don't know why I think something bad could happen but I just do hehe.

It is definitely a smoother smoke! Glad to hear your girlfriend loves it!

I don't think it makes too much of a difference, the water gets changed every day so the chances of anything rotting or getting mold is very small! I just make sure I 'rotate' the buds.... the stuff that was on the bottom goes on the top, etc.

I really only water cure to get faster smoke, lol.....

In my opinion air drying is too harsh... and the flavour isn't very good after 4-7 days either, so water curing is the way to go. That being said, it doesn't compare to proper, 3-6 week, air cured buds! No comparison at all! The extended time allows the sugars to break down, burning sugar doesn't taste very good.... : /

So, I finally got my ECC meter, and apparently.... I've been giving the ladies over 2500ppm for a long, long time... heh.

My water is 277ppm out of the tap, so really it's 2200ish I guess.

Mercy, I've got that too much macaroni sweats  2500ppm, beefy you are a madman! Sorry to hear about the mold, you think phenotype issue, airflow between bud issue, or a combo of both? Your garden is looking sweet though.

What is your RH on lights on and your RH on light off? can't fuck around with mold!! you might have to get yourself a dehumidifier!!

From recently having a small PM problem, I believe more than ever that any of those problem (bud rot, mold, pm) can be avoided with proper airflow, and proper RH. I have since added some airflow in the tent where I had seen a little bit of PM, and so far so good.

Should have specified! Mold in the curing jar.... I didn't dry the Widow quite long enough.... it was crispy-ish on the outside, but I should have given it another day, maybe two... I scavenged some off of the Widow, there were some non-moldy spots (about 30-40%) I checked it with my microscope to see if it was mold free... :)

RH in my tent is 55-60% ;)

Update time! The ladies are looking good! I had some problems and didn't know why.... until my ECC meter got here! So don't follow the instructions on the AN bottles or you'll destroy your plants!

Here's some pics!

I'm super excited to try the Blueberry, it smells absolutely out of this world amazing! The nugs are super dense too! Still a few weeks to go on it though, I hope they'll speed up now that I have the nute problems figured out. They're getting 600-750ppm now, instead of 2500-2700ppm.... makes quite the difference! :D
