best can filter?

Whats makes for a superior carbon filter? How do I know the difference? I'm looking to exhaust hot air into the rest of my house to prevent heat signature on the outside. Thanks
 
I know Can-Filters by Can-Fan are consider one of the best, their the only carbon filters my go to hydro shop carries so they must be pretty dam good.
 
I ordered cheap fan on ebay before and they dont last. I have had my first can fan (a small one for my tent) about 6 months and it filtered a lot of stinky air, looking forward to see how much longer it will last than the cheaper ones. And also it seems like the carbon is more compacked in the canfan. I recently replaced my cheaper fans that were efficient for about 6 months for canfan. Id be happy with 18 months.
 
I've got a couple Phresh Filters that work great. No exhaust smell whatsoever. About 10 months on one so far. Plantlightinghydroponics.com has them pretty cheap. Very discreet shipping also.
 
I like the Phresh filters too. I use one to vent my tent into my house, and it works well. They're lightweight, which means less weight to ship if you're ordering online. Plus the light weight makes them easier to install.

I have also used an Active Air filter just because that's what my local store stocks. Active Air filters are of lesser quality, and they require a sold-separately flange that you have to install yourself (which is a hassle). They work well enough if you run them at the lower end of their effective capacity.
 
Tried a Phat filter for the first time, filled my lights with carbon, nice. Well not filled, but about an oz in both lights, had to vacuum it out. PITA.
Hopefully I'll get a few more months out of it, anything will be better then Ozone's "6 mo filter".

just an fyi, phat is now phresh.. same co' they changed names a year or so ago.. ;D
 
Ya, if your running your filtered air through your lights be sure to hook the filter to the fan first and let it run a good 5-10 minutes to get all the carbon dust out. I found that out the hard way too.
