Best Economical Light for My 4x4 Tent?

Is it ok to buy lights in used condition, or is that a no-no in your book?

Also, what's the best economical grow light for my 4x4 tent in your opinion? I was looking into some used Spider Farmer 2000 Watt LED's, but only because the guy I bought the tent from recommended them as his favorite brand for LED lights.

I saw a guy selling a Full Spectrum 2000W LED on Craigslist, but that price was so much cheaper than the Spider Farmer, that I couldn't help but be suspicious about it's quality, or lack thereof.

You usually get what you pay for tbh mate. Why not look at ceramic metal halide. Even the 630w ones are coming right down in price these days. Beautiful spectrum for growing cannabis too.

Spider Farmer does not sell a 2000 watt LED. The 2000 series is a 200 watt light. The light you saw on Craigslist is going to be the same. Called a 2000 but uses 200 watts.

Many light manufacturers name their products like that. You can usually drop a zero to get the actual wattage.

I use a Viparspectra xs4000 in my 2.5’x5’ and I feel like it’s kind of overkill.. I think it would be perfect in a 4x4.. it’s actual 480w and I’m very pleased with it after my first run.

Buy new cannabis lights about 200$ for insurance the warranty and you can get good promos especially on Amazon. Do some research about PPFD, number of diodes and their quality or spectrum...Look for Bar Style Lights that especially give you flowering PPFD!

I think my Fold-8 at 80% (which I flower under) runs at about 550 watts and it has been great for me in flower over two grows. My next grow journal will be with a Mars Hydro FC6500, which would be another good light for a 4x4.

How do I find the "best deals" section in this forum? I didn't see it on the main forum page.

It looks like I'm looking for something with 600 true watts with PPF of at least 1100 or so. Seems like those are pretty expensive. Is it possible to find something like that used in the $200 - $300 range? If not, that may be something I need to work towards as a goal, which would be disappointing but it is what it is! :D

Hear me now and believe me later. This is one area of a grow that you just cannot skimp on. This is the lifeblood of the plant. My partner/wife was really reluctant to spend $15,000 on a room for lighting. It's an investment that will make you many returns. Spend the money on a Growers Choice ROI720 and thank me later. Just pony up. I have these GC ROI420's in my mother tent, and they are killer for the money. If you have a 4x4, it's plenty from seed to harvest. ...... you can prob look around on Oklahoma Cannabis pages and find plenty of choices in lighting if you want to go cheaper. LED's will last forever without any bulb changes, and less heat, energy consumption, etc... just pull the trigger hoss.

Get two 240 watt led and you'll be fine. Its all about the par. I assuming its your first grow and you not going to be running co2 tanks or burners. The bottom 2 picks are 2 autos i seeded under a SF 1000 spider farmer in a 2x4 tent. Get a good humidifier and a good exhaust fan and your gold. This fist photo is a 4x4 with two 200 watt leds. Keep you vpd and ph in good range with good nutes.

If you go hps it will be cheaper on your initial purchase if you don't mind the electric bill and the heat.
If you close to Northern az I got two 1000 watt ballast and hoods and one 600 watt ballast left from the 6 I replaced with led for cheap.

Go big. Good advice and you will be thanking this man. You can always dim it and everyone dreams of going bigger sooner or later. Friend down the road selling his HLG boards to buy a second GC ROI 720
