Best kinda Soil for Northern Countries

I live in the Northern hemisphere which is here in Canada, ontario where it doesn't get too too hot in the summer, stays at around 15-25 or more plus the humidex

I was wonderin what kinda seed i should get to accomodate the weather.

And also wonderin what type of soil i should use and what to mix in the soil to get the very best for the plant's yield, health, and such

Help/tips/suggestions?

I to am in Ont.. I use PRO-MIX potting soil $10 a bag at CANADIANTIRE.
Any Indica strain will treat you well..
