Best Kush You Ever Smoked?

I did so bad the first run of this plant. It’s been in Cali for like 20 years and did not like the move. This runs way better but still not perfect. (Working on room) why generic?
The seeds were a gift from a friend and all I know for sure is they're OG Kush that they picked up while traveling in Amsterdam. Just a clear envelope with no breeder info. So far it's had a tough life waiting for an auto flower to finish up in the same tent. Way more light than any of them wanted and rootbound while I tried to slow them down to keep them managed. Hoping to cut them loose in the next few weeks. The OG needs to be super cropped but I'm waiting until the auto is done and I have more room. I'll add a Steve Lemme OG x White Cherry Truffle cross then as well as we have a 4 plant limit in my state and I'm vegging three of those at a friend's grow. The Steve Lemme OG is another one of my favorites.IMG_20220716_174845077~2.jpg

It was a strain we all used to call 'tuna can kush'

Used to come sealed in tuna cans, out of western Canada (BC). That was over a decade ago, haven't had anything as good since.

How young and naive I was to take it for granted, thinking it would be around forever..

I'm growing Pre 98 Bubba Kush again this run and it's better this time, but slow as hell in veg compared to the generic OG Kush and Motorbreath 15 clone it's sharing the tent with. I absolutely loved the flavor, smell and really relaxed high it had though so it was worth running one more time at least.
I got a bubba76. Pre 98 x 76 Afghani. Looks just like pre 98, taste os sweet and cedar

Hazeman has a bunch of Tuna crosses, you might check him out. Never tried those, but he has legit pre 98 Bubba stuff too that is really good.

CropKing has Tuna Kush and Hazeman has the F2’s. Sounds super interesting. Rotting fish terps?

I don't know if the weed I smoked back in the day was a tuna cross, we all collectively knew it as 'kush'

and we paid for it too. $15/gram, back when street prices were usually only $10/gram.

sold in tuna cans, then sealed coffee bags because people found out about the canning method and began producing counterfeit batches of weed. what I would do to taste that weed again.. it was the taste I most remember about it, the taste and smell were out of this world, but the taste

I'm not sure if it was a tuna cross breed. the actual 'kush' was sold in tuna cans, hence the name 'tuna can kush' lol

and like I said, I've sort of made it my mission while growing to track down that majestic strain
That's the same one Hazeman has. Used to come packed in cans. Sourced from the original producers.

no friggin' way. from the description: Tuna Kush aka Tuna OG is a BC legend that is now surfacing in North American medical cannabis markets. This strain has been deemed one of the most potent available, producing small, dense nuggets that are hard-caked with resin! Tuna Kush is a rare Indica dominant hybrid strain that is said to be a phenotype of the classic Hindu Kush.

kind of hard to believe that strain is 'the' one I've been after all this time. I'm currently growing 'BC Kush' from a different depot and the pictures of it 1658329037890.png

are similar to the description of the other one "Develops purples in the fan leaves and smaller bud leaves with cooler temperatures"

think they might be the same? lol either way, thank you for the link!! if this doesn't taste like the bud of legend I smoked back in the day I'm definitely gonna cop some of those seeds!

Sounds like my kind of cross, I bet the Afghani adds a nice bit of extra body stone. That would be great medicine concentrated down to tincture. I smoked some pre 98 this morning just for the coffee/chocolate and hint of kush flavor and it's curing nicely. Been about a month in the jars now.

The best kush I’ve had was a purple kush I got in NYC in 2010. Tiny rock nugs with white glistening frost purple on top green on the bottom just like the pic of the bc kush.
Dank pungent earthy/pine/grape/skunk/coffee/citrus/perfume/incense
I’ve been trying to find it since and the closest I’ve come is the bubba although I just got a pack of the bc kush regular and none of them popped.
Now I’m trying archive seeds ultraviolet which I think might be the same as the 2010 NYC kush I had which I think *might* be related to the purple kush from Oakland circa 2007

I would just hit up Hazeman with an email and ask him about it, he's a friendly guy and always responds to my questions. Ask him for a current price list while you're at it, he has some great older cuts.
