Best Pot

Could someone tell me the best cheapest pot for my gorilla plant? Like to keep it in there since I heard they don't like to be transplanted.

Fabric pots are cheap and work great. They are pretty much all I grow in.

I've always bought the cheap plastic pots you can get at Hydro stores and nurseries. Figure out how much room you have and how big you want your plant. I got diminishing returns when I upped to a 20 gallon pot, it may be the plant didn't have time to take advantage of the extra room for roots. I prefer working my way up from smaller pots to bigger ones as the plant grows, usually 3 gallon to 5 gallon to 10, at which point it's starting to flower. Either way, transplanting won't hurt the plant if done right, you just pop out the root ball and bury it in a bigger pot with more dirt. It's when you fuck up the root ball that your plant could get shocked temporarily

Dude you can grow plants in a trash bag, milk jug, or a bucket from KFC. Transplant as often as needed; no such thing as a strain that doesn’t tolerate having more room to grow. Cheapest containers are plastic bags with holes in them; they work fine.

You mean like grocery bags from Walmart ect. ? Never thought of that but when you have to transplant them to something bigger wouldn't the soil be loose and shock the roots? KFC bucket is very interesting also lol.

I would go with a fabric pot. They allow oxygen to get to the roots better than plastic or clay. They also drain well. Making you less likely to overwater. Definitely a good choice for new growers. I use a brand called smart pots they are pretty nice. Happy growing.

Thanks for all the answers. Since it's my first time I have no idea how to prune if I have to. Only thing I ever pruned was a heirloom tomato plant I once had. Any good vids or tutorials out there on that if I have to?

Look on YouTube there is tons of videos.

I think I'll get a 3 gallon smart pot to start it in. When should I move it in the ground? Also how do you get the rootball out of the pot without damaging it?

Wait till plant needs a water.
Put plant on its side, roll the pot on ground, grab base of stem and turn upside down, pull the stem as u lift the pot. If its smaller its a more delicate process but same same.
If u dont have the roots sitting in the sun and u give them a good drink after they motor on just fine.

You can also LST it, basically tying the top down a bit so other parts of the plant are higher. In the end you'll have a bush if you keep on it, and you won't slow the plant down by topping it.

I just went out of 3 gal to 5 gal smartpot last week waited till roots started coming out of bottom if you have enough airflow the roots will air prune on the sides and when they are starting to come out of the bottom you just hold stem with plant on its side and slowly rip roots from bottom

Free Pot.. Organic Pot... Strong Pot... Tasty Pot.. too hard to choose which one is best for me.
