Go hydro or setup a drip system...which is also a form of hydro.

Drip can be cheap to setup...but it has downfalls like clogged drippers. If you are growing in soil or a peat based mix...it's best not to set the drippers to come on very often either cause those mediums need time to dry out abit between waterings.

Drink!

It's easy as shit and can be left alone for a few days if your res is big enough

check out futuregarden.com
they have it and you can read the details

It's $20 for just the valve
$12 for 2 rubbermaids. one for a res and the other for a tray. you don't really need pots. just plant straight in the tray
$5 for some coco
$5 for 1/4 in tubing

I think that's as cheap as it can get. You probably already have the rubbermaid or some other resiviour and another to use as a tray.

I bought 2 smartvalves just the other day. One for a tray in the flower room and 1 for mothers in the veg room
