My closet is 9' wide x 2' and the floor is carpet. I'm wondering if I should construct like a plastic tub. Or use plywood and grow trays. Idk, what do you think?

All plants need some kind of tray or saucer to capture run-off. The type of floor covering you have is irrelevant.

lol try taking a plywood piece the size of your closet. Now make a brim around it, doesnt have to be more than 1/2 " deep. You can do this with any wood, or PVC. I think itd look pro with pvc ripped down the center then screwed on. Now after you have a piece of plywood with a rim you line it with plastic, only putting staples above where the water reaches. you can glue it down if you want it to look flush to the floorboard. Wa-laa a floor

I got a huge board of melanine at the hw store for like 11 bucks. Lined my whole closet with it. Sturdy and thin, can with some patience be cut with a utility knife and a straight edge. White reflective and awesome.
