actually I would bet that the xpg2's give current cobs more than enough competition, but yes about all the rest and apologies for being a dick, but at least it sank in. Good luck with your new grow, if you get it off the ground with COB's should be a f'in blast...

Oh yeah the xpg2 and xml2 for sure compete with cobs for sure, but are more expensive for same wattage for cxb atleast have not priced vero. Thanks for getting back to so quickly, much appreciated. I just checked on what you just told me and I have to admit, it's a bit worrying. I've done a fair bit of research into the physics of light recently but what I've found to be incredibly difficult is to decipher the fact from the bullshit since all the LED manufacturers make pretty big claims. I guess until I get PAR and Spectrum meters and do some testing on different kit it will be impossible to tell.
I love the idea of making some but have very little time at the moment and would need to do a lot more research. If could ask you two more things that would be awesome. What brands do you recommend and do you have any thoughts on which is the best type of LED light out of Birdglelux, Osram, Cree & Epistar as they seem to be the most commonly used.

Setting aside the time to learn the essentials is worthwhile. From there you might consider diy. If not you'd have become fluent enough to discern the top performers from the marketing clowns.

I built a 4xcxb3590 bar and compared my Kind and the Advanced together. I could defiantly tell the difference immediately. I already sold my l600 and the 600 Advanced. I'm working on a 16 cob cxb3590 5x5 room build right now, I should be posting pictures of the finished build in there and a follow up build. I can understand the talk about PAR and stuff like that, but what really matters is experimentation and results. Also adapting from them to get the highest yield possible, and save money on electricity.

Eh its my effort of scroging. Working on my 4th grow now. My scrog net was to high i belive so im lowering it and see how that goes.
