They are showing what solvent is used and extraction type. For instance. Rso-rick simpson oil, qwiso- quick wash iso. As far as whats best.., its all opinion based on personal tastes.

Ya that basically sums it up. Different names for different methods of extraction. Also different end products based on the method used, and the input material. Some techs and some materials result in nice golden shatters, some wax like products, and some will just turn to gooey oil. Lots of variables when it comes to extractions, and like was said alot of it all comes down to opinions and preferances. Some people like shatter, some like wax, some won't have anything to do with solvent based extractions and will only smoke hash that was dry sieved or water extracted. You know what they say different strokes for diffferent folks.

I particularly didnt prefer my ISO, will try qwiso next time. Although the alcohol evaporated quite quickly.

I have only been working with iso for over a year now, and the quick wash is the key. I never wash my buds or trim for more then 30 seconds with everything ICE cold(in freezer for atleast 24 hrs). Then I put it back in the freezer and let it sit for 4-5 hours which allows the impurities to settle to the bottom and get good and cold. Then filter it (sometimes I filter twice) through some coffee filters still in the freezer so that the filter and everything are still nice and cold. Once its filtered evap it with as little heat as possible to retain terpenes, color and quality. You should be able to get some great results using Iso, its all about the techniques used.

Don't be bamboozled by acronyms... It's all just different processes of making concentrate. I fell down this rabbit hole a few months ago and have yet to return to the surface. I have learned that making concentrates is a tool every grower should have in their arsenal: you simply need to find a way to enjoy the trim you used to throw away while waiting for your bud to cure, right? That's how it starts: It began for me with bubble hash which is enjoyable enough but then I tried making qwiso which came out great (thanks TC) and liked it so much I got a tube & shot some BHO which totally blew my mind. Try a dab. Get some bubble bags. Run some qwiso or qwet...

well thanks to all who gave to the input on my question,so far i guess i have been on the right page.. i am using only iso and getting nice golden shatter. i just recently purchased an ego pen but it comes with a bottle and its to fill the pen up. HOW DO I GET MY SHATTER TO OIL IN ORDER TO GO IN MY PEN???????????//

You need to make the e-cannabis oil... Grow goddess has a great tech look around in the c&e section for the threads on how to do it but I know you need some polypropylene glycol to mix it down. I use a globe style pen you can put your shatter directly onto without further processing...put it together for like $15 see thread entitled best vape pen ever for more info

I have an ego pen, and have made some THC fluid for it a couple times now with my shatters and waxes I've made. I jist did a 10ml batch the other day and tried it the first time today. The thing I like about the liquid pens is just that they are sooo discrete, no one has a clue I'm vaping hash oil it just looks like an e cig. All I have been doing is warming the hash oil with the e fluid, I've been using 80%pg20%vg that I bought from the local vape shop, but you can get it online and other places and make your own mixes. Having the local ecig shop though, I've been buying exactly the mix I want with no flavor and then melting in my oil. I vapes nice, has decent flavor and does the job well. I've been mixing about 2g of oil with 10ml of fluid.
