BIG BUDS advanced nutrients 0-15-40

What would that regimen cost per crop, and how many plants/crop?
A better way to do the math would be cost/gram if you got the numbers..

Yea, the OP mentioned adding Big Bud after week 3. That is way too late. Beginning of week two I go straight to 15 mL/gal. If I don't have Bud Blood I will use the Big Bud in week 1 as well ~ 7 mL/gal. I have grown without Big Bud before and hope I never have to again. Great stuff.

And the AN nute calc is right on IMO. I use it on the Medium Feeding level with Monkey Juice in coco. You will notice the curve at the top does account for the varying nute requirements of the plant during flower. http://www.advancednutrients.com/nutcalc3public/

Because contrary to popular belief in these forums, it is actually possible to give plants exactly what they need without expensive concoctions..
Using high-end nutrients/soil/additives for dope is like painting by numbers or following a recipe.. If you're a noob grower who can't afford to mess up, then those idiot-proof regimen products are worth the extra money.. But trust Uncle Ben when he says he gets better results with his own mixes.. Every plant has a different appetite.. Learn the intricacies of that with the plants you're growing, and the sky is the limit..
I'd be REALLY intrigued if a nutrient product was released that claimed to be the perfect concoction for say thai sativas.. But no.. Apparently you can design a single perfect blend for every strain of one of the most diverse plants on the planet..
I prefer clones, and the reason being is that when every plant on your table is identical, its possible to work out a perfect regimen for all.. Every time I grew from seed was a new learning experience, and I had to tinker with individuals to keep them in peak condition..

Peters, Schultz, Dyna-Gro, Sam's Choice, Harrell's, Plant Food, High-Yield, etc.

I look at the label and salts used in the product and go from there. Chicken feathers, eye of the newt, and Korean guano doesn't cut it for me.

I just don't recall ever seeing 18-4-8 products in stores.. Maybe I'm wrong, but I definately think I would have looked into it if I did.. Any idea what the actual product you last bought that formulation in??
I've used lots of organics, but never chicken feathers, or eye of newt unless they happened to get tossed into the composter..:)
 
I've been removed from my sources for that stuff.. I miss living in the country..
Its a sad realization when you move to a city, and realize your neighbors aren't going to help you build a garage for free beer..:(

Fancy fertilizers are more than salts alone these days, but its worth noting that alot of the extras are only redundant sources for things that should already be in healthy soil..

pepul like 2 say "salts r salts" like all ferts are teh same if their made of chem salts but thats just stupid

theres hundreds or thousands of diff salts that can be used to make ur ferts and they r not all teh same

diff solubility, diff proportions, etc, etc


better ferts use better salts
period

oxygen in 1 jar is the same as oxygen in any other jar but that aint the same as nitrogen in another jar

2 gasses, diffrent stuff
 
And management of those aspects is key.. Anybody who wants to learn a bit should read up on agricultural sources.. Farmers have been damn good chemists for centuries..
