if you'd notice, the BP oil spill would have been prevented if the regulations that were already in place had simply been enforced, it requires no growing of government whatsoever.

Stupidity sure is fun.
To the one semi-lucid point you made, if the BP oil spill was due to existing laws and regulations not being enforced, and the problem wasn't related to the size, too big or too small, of the government and since I didn't mention the BP oil spill, didn't reference it in my post, and it doesn't invalidate my argument... why bring it up?

If government oversight is the solution to all problems why not have a government camera in every house and a government agent to follow every civilian around for life just to make sure nothing bad happens? Since the Government regulates forest fires, how come we have them? Can't the government outlaw lightning? They Can!! But they can't stop the lightning from starting a forest on fire. Just like the government makes it illegal to spill oil, but shit happens anyway.
Perhaps if we had a PRIVATE agency that inspected things we would not have had that problem, perhaps if a PRIVATE agency had investigated Enron, perhaps if a PRIVATE agency followed up on the greatest theft ever perpetrated in the history of the world you might actually see someone other than Bernie Madoff pay for it.
Since we have Government on the watch you can rest assured this shit will just continue to happen, no matter how many laws are made or how hard they try. Government is 99% incompetent. A well known fact that the bottom 25% of college grads work for government, yet you want to trust them to do the right thing even though the record is littered with failure at every turn.

Because I was responding to Dukes assertion of 3 types of companies. Then after his reply, I posted in response to that. We were on a bit of a tangent that was still within the parameters of the thread, but NOT specifically addressing it. That tends to happen on here a bit, yes? Of course anyone can feel free to interject, but you might want to actually follow along if you're going to comment.

No, I've been fairly clear all along. I'm for a restrained, very limited federal government. I tend to agree with that whole states rights thing.
And if you're asserting that those who want the USA to follow the intent of the Constitution, need to leave, brother we outnumber you 4-1, if anyone is leaving...it'll be you. There's already a paradise running just like what you want here, it's Europe. And it's doing remarkably well, you'd love it. I think we'll go ahead and keep our country as it was intended.

I can point you to so many polls, it boggles the mind that you don't know the number by heart. People/Voters that identify themselves as "liberal" is ALWAYS in the 20-25% range. And its these hardcore "liberals" that want massive government expansion and intrusion with the ultimate goal being European-style socialism, which they openly admit.
The Libs on here can't gush enough about how much better everything is over there, about how much better we would be if we adopted their policies, I've heard it countless times by all of you. Ahh, how wonderful it would be if it was only $15 trillion. We have over $115 trillion in unfunded liabilities at this time, a number so large and so ominous that very few of our leaders will even mention it. But the Lib gang in here has it all figured out, we don't need to make massive changes to our entitlements, everything is fine. Of course, until they start coming due, then what? Is China gonna lend us $60 trillion? Can we actually just print money in $30 trillion chunks instead of the $1-3 trillion we've been doing? We're on a collision course with catastrophe, it's not a matter of if, it's just a matter of when.
