Black on seeds

I love rapid rooters/root riots for clones. For seeds I'm still a paper towel in a ziplock kindaguy!

Rapid Rooters work well for clones but they are an organic medium which is outlawed in my garden. Hydro and organics don't mix! For seeds, nothing works better than dropping them into a bottled water until they germ.

everyone has their technique for sure. just sayin, in those 'rooters, that 3:7 just became 6:7 and im being conservative because i'm pretty sure I see the white of a new rootlet on #7...definitely something up with the other run of seeds (with the black stuff) not correlating the presence of the coating just that these beans w/o the black are germinating quite well, happy to report

I stick my seeds 3/8" deep in dirt, keep it slightly moist and put a light right over to top to keep them warm.

I've had much worse luck with paper towels, but I suppose when you get your method down what works, works.

I have a 99% rate with my method and the very few that didn't pop were just bad seeds. :)

Germination is something I will never fuck with again. Pop beans in root riot cubes, don't give a fuck which way the point is pointing, all good seeds pop every single time. for the fraction of a percent that doesn't pop, it's a dud. Then I don't fuck with them till I put the cube in dirt or hydro.
I liked the root riot cubes, but a replacement bag was $25.00. I bought some cheap ones and went home. A few seeds died and I thought about the root riot cubes again. 100 @ $25 is only .25 a piece. To guarantee that a $10+ bean sprouts, it's priceless.
I will listen to people argue about fan leaves, harvest time, light cycles, nutrient recipes, all that shit. I doubt like fuck, I will try germinating any other way though. lmao.

I had been lying for rr cubes though. I thought they were made in Lansing. I claimed them as our cubes! lol. Upon further review of bag, It seems we have a lying fucker among us and it's me. I found that bastard! On a different spot on bag it says made in Australia, so some Mexican's in a factory in Lansing just rebox them or some bullshit. So I finally found out what I was wrong about. I have been wondering for years, what I could possibly ever be wrong about, and I found it. Phew!! Glad I got that out of the way.

Heh totally forgot what date I popped those beans, remembered this thread and problem solved Not like anyone cares but that 6:7 ended up being 7:7 but I culled some weaklings. Sittin on a big ol bag of beans with 100% germination so far....now if it could just turn out better than mom & dad I'd be that much happier

Funny (not sure how you meant that) If only you knew the parents... I'm using UV tests to cull early because I want a FOR REAL keeper from this sack of beans, so basically if the pheno doesn't freak out trich-steroid style when first introduced to UV in flower, it dies (not before harvest, but the pheno itself dies etc)
A man's gotta know what he likes
