L lightweight Well-Known Member May 6, 2008 #2 There isn't a mixed spectrum rule per se but, at a minimum, I would venture a guess that a 2:1 ratio would be effective. Others would say 3:1. Just keep the spectrum geared towards blue in veg and red in flower and all will be well.

L lightweight Well-Known Member May 6, 2008 #4 It would be best to mimic the growing season so start with 2000 lumens and work up from there. Seedlings only need 500-1000 lumens to get growing. The 2:1 ratio of red to blue will work well for you. The added blue will help keep the "stretch" phase to a minimum.
