Just saw a video on making a new sort of extraction of mushrooms.
Most extractions, by necessity are from dry fruit. Fine, but you have already lost the sparkle you get from fresh and you rarely get the chance to eat fresh because they just don't last long.


So, according to stamens, you chop up the fresh and put it in ice. Then you place that in the fridge.

Apparently, you will get a whole alkaloid extraction, psylocin and psilocybin both in the now blue water.


Let it sit a few days or so, strain it and make ice cubes.


Now you can enjoy the pleasures of fresh mushrooms any time you like.

I haven't had any fresh for a long long time but it seems legit.

I saw this on YouTube awhile back makes some. I cant remember how much he used but it was cool. I think he also made gummies with the blue juice on the one i watched I wanna try this sometime too. Would it help to put a teaspoon of food grade citric acid in the ice water?

What are you hoping to gain from the citric acid?

I will try this with my next flush but, i will put the mush/water/ice in a cryovac bag and pull out the oxygen and seal it. Then place that bag in a buckey of ice water in the fridge.

In hopes to keep concentration high, and reduce outside contam.

I will try this with my next flush but, i will put the mush/water/ice in a cryovac bag and pull out the oxygen and seal it. Then place that bag in a buckey of ice water in the fridge.

In hopes to keep concentration high, and reduce outside contam.
Anyone please correct me if I am wrong but from my understanding is behind the citric acid is that the theory behind using citric acid, which is used in “lemon tek”,is that it helps break down part of the fruit at a micro level. (More scientific details if googled) which basically just help the body consume of the psilocybin and supposedly increase potency. So not to take the normal amount when doing this

his channel actually has some good quality videos. And the oldpod cast tapes or what ever he uses in the background is pretty interesting just to listen to of their trips

Is fresh more potent then dried?

Real question. I heard the opposite and feel like you would be the source of truth!

I think he was asking about why add citric acid to the ice water and also describing what he was going to do his next run.

The citric acid is to help with the side effects of eating dry shrooms such as nausea. It helps break down the fruit for you increasing potency, is from my understanding.

I have some food grade citric acid that i used to lower ph of my tap water, i know that the citric acid is the reason that lemon tek exists. I didn't know if it would be helpful to make blue juice with a sprinkle.
I didnt understand what he was saying about contamination

Ahh i didnt know of citric acid or lemon tek. Ive always just drank some OJ.

My idea with the reduced oxygen packagong is just to keep the "blue juice" in its own space, free of air and without having to add more ice/dilute the mix.

Probably just extra steps:weed:

Don't know, doubt it though, it might degrade the fresh elements.

Yes.

There are two related substances in fresh (more really but that is a different thread)


Psilocybin and psilocin.

One converts to another within the body.

One is seriously degraded by being exposed to the air.


Eating them fresh has both elements available.


Sorry, its late, I can't recall which is which.

Psilocybin converts to psylocin in the body, but I'm not sure which degrades in O2, my guess is psylocin. I'm still curious about the citric acid though, as I could see that giving a fuller extraction of the mushrooms. I think it would be worth someone trying it with a modest amount as a test.

Dm for samples of both fruits and citric acid if your willing to document your experience

Damn, those look pretty wild. I've only ever done the GT's, PE's, and your standard variety cubensis that most seem to sell. Many, many, many times, but only those species.

I have gt, rustywhites, blue meanies, albino penis envy. Several more varieties in different stages of cultivation... how much do they usually sell for in your area?
