thanks resinous, they get a lot of sunlight too and i got a few CFL as well. nothing beats the real thing though they are much more active in the morning and as soon as the direct sunlight is off them they start to slow down.

Picture0005.jpgPicture0006.jpgPicture0008.jpgPicture0013.jpgthis is the fertilizer i have been using, the reason it is so weak is because i have also been using compost and do not want to cause any nutrient damage/deficiencies. this stuff always makes my plants happy; every time i use it my plants are perking more than they were within an hour. i have seen more significant gains with it on Belma than Rudy, the first time i gave it to Belma she grew an inch and a half in one day.

Picture0033.jpgPicture0036.jpgthe sand makes it very difficult for adult fungal gnats to lay their eggs, while also creating a very dry top soil dehydrating the eggs already planted. after doing this i will let the soil dry for about 4 days but about 3 hours after laying the sand down all of the gnats were out the potters hiding in my room.

Picture0034.jpgPicture0035.jpgnow to exterminate the adult fungal gnats i have laid honey traps around my room. i have already caught about 20 of them in my honey traps but some are smarter than that, and those ones you will have to kill with a swatter or something. killing the adult fungal gnats will dramatically decrease the amount of gnat eggs being laid and within a matter of days your problems should be solved. dont forget to tape the holes on the bottom of your potters up, because if they decide to start reproducing in their than you will have a much bigger problem on your hands. baby gnats can feed off of your plant's roots and the bottom of your potter allows easy access to them.
